On the quest to finish my Research Paper on the legalization of Cannabis I found this insightful video that you should all watch!

I had no idea seizures could last so long or be so frequent.
Watching that woman towards the end trying to get through that. And that bit where she says she basically waited 10 years to really meet her son. Really powerful
It's going to be funny in the future when we tell them marijuana used to be illegal and nobody will believe it.

seizures are pretty damn hardcore, worst I heard, I've heard of kids with 11 a day, completely ruining their entire life because they were so frequent.
Drugs for these I would assume are insanely hardcore. Drugs for shit marijuana can help seems to be pretty nasty to
300 a week though, that's insane, more than 90% less seizures with no hard side effects.
screwed up thing though, there are people that are so against weed they'd hear this story and still say "You can not have the medicine that saves your life". These people need to be kicked in the god damn teeth.

"I... what?"
your avatar is perfect, because in the future, everyone will have cybernetic pink hair like that and it'll be in 3d.
this is what it looks like during a seizure

Well it's still illegal
I believe it's illegal because alcohol, tobaco, pharmaceutical, drug tests, the DEA, hemp substitutes will go bankrupt if it goes legal.

I think you have no idea what you are talking about.
Alcohols been around since like the fucking BCs and is completely different to pot and going no where. Tobacco will take a small hit but nothing serious, its a product that sells itself and people are still addicted. The DEA isnt just pot, its way more. Pharmaceutical wont go anywhere, they will get MORE money by creating THC based medicine, Pot is not a fucking cure all. High school drug tests will take a hit. Hemp substitutes is like the only realistic thing you listed.
I wonder if it works on seisures caused by neurocysticercosis, if so, this could have helped my grandmother.
Imagining her smoking weed is downright hilarious though :v:

There's already a substitute with THC it's called "medicinal marijuana"

Alcohol and tobacco will never lost business because of marijuana.
and saying pharmacy drugs will go out of business is the funniest fucking thing i've heard all day, weed can't cure everything

What do you mean by medicinal marijuana being a substitute with THC? that makes no sense
hemp substitutes will go bankrupt if it goes legal.
How?
Most products made with hemp (paper, rope, cloth) are expensive and poor quality shit.
Just because i have shitty title doesn't mean i don't know what i'm talking about. People will grow weed in their homes and will stop buying "anti-depressants" from the pharmacy.
Just because i have shitty title doesn't know what i'm talking about. People will grow weed in their homes and will stop buying "anti-depressants" from the pharmacy.
Marijuana isn't a cure for depression.

weed is somewhat of a depressant but I'm not about to go there.
What about the thousands of other drugs that do things weed can't?
People get prescribed medicine for ADHD, schizophrenia, even something as simple as bowel problems.
Weed wont help with any of that, I'm sure the pharmacy business will be fine.
[editline]6th December 2013[/editline]
fuck man, people go to the pharmacy for acne pills. you're treating this like weed cures EVERYTHING

Are you PUI right now?
Marijuana isn't a cure for depression.
It's not, but I can tell you from experience that it helps a fuckton.
It made life more manageable when I was going through a rough period of depression.

He originally said that people shouldn't get "anti-depressants" from the pharmacy.
There's a reason that doctors prescribe those. They tend to work.

Yeah, from your experience, but isn't it one of those things that vary from people to people?
He originally said that people shouldn't get "anti-depressants" from the pharmacy.

Yup, that they do. The only downside is the side-effects and it's rough on your liver. But that's true for any sort of medication.
I think he's trying to say that Marijuana is a no risk option which it most definitely is. At least, that's true for vaporizers and edibles.
Yeah, from your experience, but isn't it one of those things that vary from people to people?
No, not necessarily. It depends on the strain, really. Marijuana does have scientifically documented confirmation that it helps with depression. Maybe not as much as the hallucinogenic compound found in shrooms, or maybe even anti-depressants, but good nonetheless.

You have coloured me a bit interested now, do you have a source for that?

I guess when I'm feeling down smoking a bowl makes me feel a bit better, but does it really help people with full on depression?
I think he's trying to say that Marijuana is a no risk option which it most definitely is. At least, that's true for vaporizers and edibles.
That's not true. Carcinogenic compounds exist in marijuana. One of these is benzyprene, which alters a gene called p53, which is a tumour suppressor gene.

Until I get a nice paper on it, I very much doubt it.

This is hardly anything to go on.
You have coloured me a bit interested now, do you have a source for that?
I can't say I have a source. I shouldn't have said "confirmation." There's evidence for sure though, check this out:
http://medicalmarijuana.com/experts/expert/title.cfm?artID=65
That story also sources this link that says low doses help depression but high doses worsen it: http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2007/10/071023183937.htm
There's already a substitute with THC it's called "medicinal marijuana"
No, they made one:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sativex
Marijuana didn't help me with my depression at all. I felt horrible for weeks after having done it and it evoked several dormant autism spectrum disorders in me (I've tried it 4 times).
That's not true. Carcinogenic compounds exist in marijuana. One of these is benzyprene, which alters a gene called p53, which is a tumour suppressor gene.
How does it alter it? In a good or bad way? Because I know marijuana helps suppress tumors as well. I dunno if it alters p53 to make it more powerful at fighting tumors but it sounds like it.
There's a man I met who is like... the 3rd federal medical marijuana patient ever. He has some life threatening condition where tumors grow on every joint in his body and he only had a very short time to live. He's been smoking medical cannabis (which is high in CBD as opposed to THC) for over 30 years and his tumors haven't grown since.

But medical marijuana comes with both THC and CBD levels. CBD levels are the medical aspect, while THC is the stuff that makes you high. And sometimes they grow it so it's high in CBD and low in THC.
That's not true. Carcinogenic compounds exist in marijuana. One of these is benzyprene, which alters a gene called p53, which is a tumour suppressor gene.
Even if it's baked into foods or vaporized?

75% of lung cancers happen in people with faulty p53 genes.

Right, but is there a large scale study on the efficacy of marijuana for treating his ailment?
[editline]6th December 2013[/editline]
Even if it's baked into foods or vaporized?
I don't think so, but most people don't tend to consume marijuana by baking it into food.
75% of lung cancers happen in people with faulty p53 genes.
That doesn't answer what I asked. There's no correlation to even suggest that marijuana increases the risk of getting lung cancer. Alls I know is smoke is bad for your lungs no matter what. But since there's no annually reported deaths by marijuana, I'm willing to bet it's extremely low-risk. And you're even at lower risk if you don't smoke tobacco or cigarettes.
