http://redvsblue.com/archive/?id=1541 this season is finally over... i love the way they make their own animations and such. really makes fight scenes awesome. comments?
I'm totally fine with a rehash of Blood Gulch chronicles, if that is what they're going for. Though I imagine some conflict has to appear since he (Church) has his imprisonment set as a "good memory". Unless, you know, his good memories are also contain the bad (which I guess it makes sense for that whole balance thing).

I like how the title of the episode suggest that[sp]Church is actually replaying the memories in an endless loop, and that all the events of Red vs Blue are just one passing of that loop.[/sp]
Wait so what the hell. They not doing one for reach or is that just the end of the season? I'M SO CONFUSED
I hope it's just the end of this season, I'm not a big fan of Halo but I love Red vs Blue.
The ending of the chapter suggest a next season in reach. Wonder if they got SDK for it though. (animations)

i am guessing that they are gonna start filming in reach now so they can start releasing episodes later. i dont think they will just stop red vs blue at a time like this... if you noticed at the end... [sp] everything was in the reach game, so they obviously had a copy of reach before anyone else[/sp]
They didn't make the animations, they hired a guy to do it who did other videos. One called Haloid or something where it was Master Cheif versus Samus.
Yeah, so now that Monty Oum is on their team, technically, they made the animations. That is, 'he' is included in 'they.'
Ahh, the best Machinima series, and the best Halo story, at rest. Pretty damn awesome. [sp]But what I've guessed, Tex no longer exists, he is truly alone in there, just waiting to go along with the memories with her.[/sp]
Damn, will have to watch this. Also, remember this quote? [sp]"That was the second worst throw ever, of all time." "That, was the worst throw ever, of all time."[/sp]
Anyone else ever notice that Griff sounds like Zak Braff?
They still make these?
I'm not really sure where they can go from there.
This ending was kinda depressing as hell.
I'm not really sure where they can go from there.
They all move back to Blood Gulch and continue antics from there. [sp]I expect the next season to revolve around the Director trying to find and recapture Wash.[/sp]
"Attack!" "Get 'em!" "WE'RE GONNA FUCKING DIE!" Best.
Loved the technical improvements of this season, cut above the rest, no question. But yes, where the series takes it from here is a good question. The way I see it, there are three distinct possibilities, but there are probably more I'm not considering: 1: The series continues in the Reach engine, in Church/Epsilon's memories. On the upside, this could present an opportunity for the series to become a bit less serious about itself and reclaim the pure comedy route. Activities in Blood Gulch could be infinitely expanded now that Reach's maps have acquired such sheer scale. On the downside, knowing this isn't real, and just Church's memories, would nag at the minds of every fan. Plus, recycling or redoing the running gags the series has perpetuated so much as it is might cause major stagnation. 2: The series continues in the Reach engine, in the real world with the Reds, Blues and Wash. The good parts of option 1 could apply to this as well, but with continuing plot development. They could all decide to return to Blood Gulch, though it might be a contrivance given the notorious hatred for the place. This would also allow for older characters to make appearances, like Sister. Only thing is, Sarge's disillusionment over the Red/Blue struggle and his stake in things would make things weird, which brings me to my third option. 3: The series, as we know it, is finished. I don't believe this one to be true, but only because I'm well aware that Rooster Teeth makes it's entire livelihood off of this flagship series. Yes, they've done miniseries of other games, characters or premises, have an awesome podcast and Achievement Hunter, but the coveted lightning has yet to strike twice. The characters and the continuity are too classic to be entirely of intended design. One does not often recreate the conditions for a web sensation or a classic series with success. They would die without RVB, and with a new engine now available, I can't see them doing this from a worldly standpoint... ...But from a story standpoint? This season could easily have capped the whole shebang if it wanted to. Like mentioned, Sarge's revelation changes everything in relation to the Reds and Blues. Now that they realize there's no reason to fight each other, they're group dynamic is forever changed. This season's third act was almost TOO epic. I mean, Sarge actually makes an AWESOME motivational speech, and references quotes of the FIRST EPISODE of the entire RVB series? They band together to face two (soon to be one) powerful enemies amidst an ensuing battle between Tex, the Meta and Wash on a cliff face? But potentially, these changes could also bring along major opportunities for furthering the existing story. Now, we all know the score. Rooster Teeth is so fond of the retcon that it's almost comical. Church, Tex, Junior, Andy, Donut, Sheila, The Meta, Delta and God knows who else, dead, dead, very very dead, and then brought back in some form or another. Now, before the true Recreation season even began, the path was already set to retcon both Church and Tex. Showing that Burnie Burns finds it necessary to have himself in the series somehow. I imagine we can expect something similar down the line. Church, if only conspicuous by his absence, is an essential character, and while they continue to try making things dramatic and interesting, I have little doubt we'll be seeing him again soon enough.
is this the end of the red vs blue show COMPLETELY? im very very very very sad
They didn't make the animations, they hired a guy to do it who did other videos. One called Haloid or something where it was Master Cheif versus Samus.
That makes a lot of sense, I always thought the fight scenes resembled the style from haloids
I remember being a few years younger and RvB being not too big of a thing. :unsmith: Good times.

Speculation is that the spartan in Monty's video is Spartan 458, Nicole. Its like calling Marcus from GoW the ONLY cog soldier.
No at comic-con they said they'd do a 9th seasons. They mentioned that the series is hard to get into... I hope that they imply to move away from the AI series completely and do something more stream-lined like the last 2 seasons have been.
I've been really confused since the beginning of this series... how the fuck does Epsilon Church have Alpha Church's memories from the canyon?!
@myoldwatermill i hope that they move away from AI as well. i think the last three seasons were based on the AI.
"Hey, Settle an old bet for me, does this look like a cat to you?"
That was really sad, and how did they do those awesome animations?
Donut is also meant to make a return next season.
