But how do you improve on perfection?
So guys I never played this game as a youngster. Is it a good oppurtunity to pick it up now? I heard a lot of good shit about it and all the references and quotes from the protagonist intrigue me

I'm gonna burst out laughing if it's literally just the exact same

It's an absolute amazing game. I'd go as far to say it's the greatest game made before the naughties (yeah yeah it was released in 2000 but i don't care IT COUNTS.) The original however has not aged well, so this project will hopefully a. bring it to a functional state and b. fix some of the issues, such as the graphics which have been overhauled quite a bit, and the boot issues which required an extra executable. And the games gonna be pennies today for the release of the mod (80% off!) so gogogo.
I figured that they'd release it on Steam.
I guess now's a good time to do a tenth playthrough. God I love this game.

It's an amazing game but the first level can put a lot of people off to it because how open it is and how it just expects you to figure out what to do. Honestly the first time I played it I kinda took a long break because of the first mission, then I got in the right mindset of what and how you are suppose to use the game mechanics.
So do we now know why they went completely silent for a few months before release?

Their last news post mentioned they were talking to Square Enix, guess this is why
Thank god they didn't do a complete remaster (as in they made every model like it came from Unreal Engine 3)
FUCK, I still didn't finish my GMDX playthrought. Oh well, I can always do it later, I've been waiting too long for this to release.

In the moddb downloads there's a ringtone that is a small portion of the UNATCO theme.
I've lost track of how many HD deus ex mods there are. But it looks like this one actually did some redesign, which should be interesting to see at least.
The Vandenburg Combat theme sounds really good. I'm hoping the composer does justice to the rest of the DX soundtrack.
If you doubt the Revision Soundtrack, here are a few more

I wouldn't call this a HD mod since it's more focused on changing the maps of the game, the HD textures and models use NewVision and HDTP assets.

Cool so it's like a combination of HD mods then?
I would read over their FAQ but their entire website is just replaced with a countdown right now lol.
It's up on Steam

Well, the mod itself is based on the maps, but it will come integrated with the HD mods.

It's my personal favorite game of all time.
I would play it vanilla first, though.
And I was just thinking of starting another playthrough of it.
Can't wait to play it!

I should update the thread before posting things. :v:
By the way, if you finish this and want more Deus Ex, play The Nameless Mod.
Afaik you can change in the options menu the new character models and soundtracks to the original ones. Or least what the devs said.
FINALLY. People were getting so pissed on the ModDB page
Oh fuck yes, I was really looking forward to it but didn't realise it'd come so soon.
uuh is Steam the only way to get it? Because I have the original disk version, and there doesn't seem to be a download on moddb.
Hopefully there'll be a version for people without the game on Steam. (Like me)
Oh cool, the original Deus Ex is on for 99p, guess this is a good time to get it on the PC, PS2 version sucks ass.

Might go up here.

Anyone else experiencing where a lot of characters are missing their voices? I hear no talking most of the time except the guy who talks to you through intercom
Ok nevermind silly me I had the sound channels on max when it's supposed to be at default for me
