Troll 2 has higher quality acting, and better sportmanship.
Pepe and Sergio Ramos are the biggest fucks in La Liga.
how exactly does someone think they can get away with bullshit like this?
theres cameras literally 360 degrees around you, dude, come on.

faking injuries is essentially a common strategy to try to penalize the other team.
I don't watch football, but the few times I do I notice that a huge amount of time in the match is wasted on players throwing themselves on the ground and bullshit like that to fish for a penalty. It's embarassing and childish.
Obviously it was his feelings that were hurt. This cannot be allowed to stand. Penalize the other player immediately
So do they like, get fucked for this?
Because this is everything that "sporting" is not.

Because soccer is still operating in the 18th century. It doesn't have more than a handful of referees, doesn't stop the clock, and as such actively incentivizes unsportsmanlike conduct specifically because players won't get caught.

a lot of the dirtiness comes from it being a worldwide street sport, though officials have been trying to clean it up these past few decades
diving is pretty much the standard for people who grew up watching and playing football, but for outsiders (like me) its acceptance is very strange
with this sort of shit on top of how damn boring it is I can't believe this is the most popular sport on the planet
So pretty much this happened?

Depends entirely on the country and league Ligue 1 (france), Serie A (italy)and La Liga (spain) have more tollerance to it with Spain being the absolute worst (this game was 2 spannish teams, 1 notorious for dirty diving bullshit, the ref was british he was'nt having any of it)
Ask any football fan in the UK and they'll tell you that Divers are a cancer of the game that needs to be eradicated, the media too. Ask that fan what they think after one of their players dives for a penalty that wins them the game though and it'll be a case of 'well if they aint gonna fix it then we might as well use it'. From what i can tell that is the same opinion for the Bundesliga as well.
But it only exists because the Footballing Authorites choose to keep the game in the darkages, FIFA, UEFA, FA ect. These assholes in charge of the game let it go on because they are too stubborn to change, or i the case of Fifa and UEFA, they like cheating as it 'adds' something to the game.
Watching grown athletic men writhe on the ground after a ginger prodding is my favorite thing about soccer.

Flopping is big in the NBA. Soccer isn't the only one where this shit happens.
This is actually part of the meta of men's soccer. Why I only give a shit about women's because at least to my understanding- it happens a lot less.
2nd video had me laughing so hard cause the 10 second mark you can hear the person recording let out a massive fart
I'm sport illiterate, what penalties does the other team get? Is it really worth making an idiot out of yourself to penalize the other team?

I don't know the first thing about football but judging on the general situation they probably have to stand in the corner for 15 minutes and aren't allowed to watch TV or use the tablet for the next 2 days.
I'm sport illiterate, what penalties does the other team get? Is it really worth making an idiot out of yourself to penalize the other team?
For starters, you get a free kick if the foul was commited outside of the goalskeeper marked area, and in that case the defenders are allowed to set up a barrier of players at a certain distance to try to stop the ball, and if the foul happened inside of that marked area, it's called a penalty kick and there is no barrier, just the player and the goalkeeper, and the shot is taken from the penalty mark, which is inside of that area.
There is that, and also the possibility of the referee giving a yellow card to the offending player (2 and you're out) or a red card (instant suspension from the game), so yes, i'd say it really pays out to behave like an arse.
There's always the possibility of getting caught and sanctioned with one of said cards, but as some guys pointed before, the lack of technology makes the game relatively low-risk high-reward.
This is literally trying to cheat. It should constitute at least a red card, but preferably a several match ban. It is ludicrous how this is still an accepted practice.
This is why to me League football is a load of shit and always has been, what a joke of unsportsman like play, these people do not respect the game at all and should be instant red carded or banned from matches.
This is why i love Rugby, fuckers have broken noses and all sorts but still carry on playing, not like the bunch of pussies that play football.
Flopping is big in the NBA. Soccer isn't the only one where this shit happens.
The NBA thankfully isn't even close to the embarrassing acting in European football, though. Seeing players getting knocked down on a hardwood floor, get up, and get on with it is admirable compared to the dramatics in football of players supposedly writhing in pain after being lightly brushed and falling onto a soft turf pitch.
The problem with soccer is how much power referees have, which is completely unproportionate to the actual quality they bring to the game. There a few referees on the side that check if there are position fouls but there is only one "actual" referee and he can pretty much do whatever the fuck he wants. This is already pretty bad in standard cases because if the referee does not see something then it didn't happen, it doesn't matter if there are 100 cameras recording; it becomes worse when you consider that referees can be bought and they can just fuck over a team with no repercussion.
Am I watching football or an actor's demo reel

It also buys a bit of time.
It also buys a bit of time.
Lost time is generally added on to the end of the match
Lost time is generally added on to the end of the match
Not really, officials always round Injury time up or down, it's rarely the correct amount. It also depends greatly on the teams playing, if a big 'brand' team or the 'Home' team is losing a game then the added time on will be as much as officials can get away with to help them draw or win, there's no official directive for this but referee's don't want to be blamed for the loss and they are frequently intimidated by 40,000 home team fans begging for fouls and penalites ect.
At the same time, deliberate fouls buys time to get your team back behind the attacking play and distrupts the oppositions momentum. It's known as a tactical foul or more commonly known within the game as 'taking one for the team'. The offending player will generally get punished for it with a yellow card, but they won't be sent off unless it's a 2nd yellow card for that player.
Another angle is, referee's tend to let teams get away with cheap stuff early on in a match, relucant to punish too early, but again depends entirely on the severity of the offence.
Edit: there seems to be alot of miss interpretations in the thread so i'll bore you some more. Cheating within football is not allowed, diving, fouling ect. All will get you punished by the refferee or his assistants, IF THEY SEE THE OFFENSE. If none of the referees saw the offense with their own eyes they cannot do anything about it and can't use video technology (this is because the Football Authoritis won't allow it and the whole reason why football is in the dark ages). If the Ref or his assisants saw an offense but cannot be 100% certain of who's at fault then they take a lenient approach to punishment just in case they were wrong (innocent till proven guilty), you also don't get a card if the foul you commit was a genuine accident UNLESS you have done like 6 of them in the game or the accident was dangerous play, if it's the latter (known as a leg breaker) then you can be given your marching orders on the spot.
If a refferee see's a blantant / dangerous foul or dive that is severe enough, then you can be given a straight red card reducing your team to 10 men for the rest of the game.
And lastly, if a player cheats in a game he can be punnished retrospectively, thats can be a simple fine for the player or suspension, but the game is never replayed and point are never redistrubeted (again a failing of the Footballing Authorites) which means that the punishments are often not severe enough, another problem with this is that Retrospective action cannot be taken IF the referee notes the incident in his match report / takes action at the time.
So if someone breaks a players leg on the pitch and the offending player gets a yellow card for it, that's all the punishment they get.

Ruby is quite literally a sport unlike this drama show.
Plus Ruby is a sport where its a massive release of pent up anger but held in a gentlemanly manner, if someone gets fucked up everyone routes to help them, in football no one gives a flying fuck due to this cry wolf mentality.
