This brings back some memories. When I was like 10-11, we used to blow all our pocket money on Initial D V2-3. We used to watch the older dudes in High school play and they were so much better than us, and we would aspire to be as good as them like they were heroes.
I remember those cards you got had these black stars that showed how much you've progressed in the game, and we used to get so excited when we got a new star.
Some of us made 'racing teams' and battled against other kids our age. I actually got pretty good when I was like 14 in my 'Sileighty' Nissan car.
And there was this cheat code you could enter on the new character screen you could enter to unlock the fastest car, which was a grey Subaru WRX.

It'd be awesome if they ported the arcade game to Xbone/PS4, it looks so fun.

Initial D games are the shit, too bad they don't sell them in the US so you have to import them all. PS3's are region free so it doesn't matter.
The game is pretty much the ridge racer game for PS3 that everyone hated, but since it's put in the Initial D universe everyone is fine with it. Also you can gutter drift like in the anime.
God dammit I love Initial D so god damn much that it makes me sad that I'll never get to play this game.
I want to buy the PS3 game for my birthday, so i can have an actual use for my PS3.

Whenever I get some cash I'll probably pick up Extreme Stage off of Video Games New York. Pretty cheap at about $45 or about $58 after shipping.

We used to have one in the city over and it was fucking great. Had Time Crisis 3, Metal Slug 2, and a shitton of other good stuff. Then they closed.
I had an arcade a mile away from me that had crazy taxi, tekken, and other cool game but they moved the good ones to an other arcade on the other side of town.
there's a pretty cool bar arcade near where i live, but i'm not 21 yet so that's out the window
Love Initial D got the PS3 Game + Wheel and it is tons of fun with especially the online match making mode.
I didn't even realize he was on manual until half way through.
I'm crazy good at all those shooting games, don't know why.

there's an all-japanese/bemani arcade not to far from my house in massachusetts. has tons of beatmania, drummania, a few of the initial d games, pop'n'music, etc.
loads of fun, i drop tons of quarters when i go
