I love how they gave the mouth arm googly eyes
I can't wait to have a pet robot that can fill the dishwasher for me.
...this is a video where a swan-headed robot dog slipped on a banana peel. This, ladies and gentlemen, is the future we have made for ourselves.
those last 5 seconds where it's close to overthrowing his human overlords; then just falls on the floor like fuck
This really is amazing pioneering stuff
can you imagine how terrifying it would be to have that thing charge at you while you're running up the stairs?
Holy shit, they just keep making better and smaller ones. This is incredible!
We fucking live in the future lads
Nope still creepy I wonder how a dog would feel like.
Well they are certainly getting there.
This is some wonderful stuff, that banana slip is freaking hilarious
I almost died at the banana part
I love how it just flops over at the end.

That white exterior cover looked pretty cool, wish they showed more of it.

They really improved it. Their older stuff made this constant noise which sounded like robotspeak for "I just want to die"
Finally, something for folks stuck on a couch too lazy to grab a beer.
"SpotMini! Get me a beer!"
Neat. How much longer before everything is free or unemployment is what they said it would be?
I'm really curious if they'll ever miniaturize and cut down the cost on these types of dog bots to make them available for education on robotics, like at universities and such. Regardless though, it's amazing how advanced the tech coming out of BD is at this point.

it's pretty crazy to see how far the tech has come along.

Yup, though I also personally feel that the "exposed/industrial" robot look is pretty neat too.

There's just something about a shiny matte white "carapace" that makes robots look cooler. Though I do wonder if, should Boston Dynamics release refined civilian models of their robots, they would look good in different colours?
I was thinking "Wow, this is cool! but a consumer version would have to look a little prettier" and then they showed the armored one.
Where can I buy one? :v:
These things just keep getting more impressive, that white cover at the end looked great.
I really want to see them put it to a practical use or consumer version.
It does make me wonder, though. I don't know if Boston Dynamics has ever gone into building drones before, but if they did, I wonder how awesome it'd be?
I can't believe the amount of processing I had to do when the most incredible robot on earth ran gleefully through a minefield of banana peels and fucking tanked
It's so cute, I want one
The military applications of these things is terrifying. Like I keep wanting to go "aww look how cute it is" but just put a gun in that things' mouth and the picture changes pretty fast. :v:
Wonder when Sarcos is going to drop any new videos about their new Exoskeletons.
Wonder how long their battery lasts.
At least when the robots do take over they have a weakness we can exploit.
Banana peels, the ultimate weapon.

I don't think it's a very good combat robot, it's more for carrying equipment and stuff iirc.
At least the original models were anyway

Strap a machine gun onto this thing, get it a little bit more mobile and I think this kind of technology would make for a pretty terrifying drone.
