EA has given them the greenlight, this has been in development for a long ass time and they said its coming to Steam.
Not too sure about that airstrike mechanic, but the rest looks stellar.
Used to play the shit out of modded CnC: Renegade servers. Hopefully this turns out well.
I don't tend to get hyped, but I really loved C&C Renegade.
I'm amazed at how professional it looks
I loved renegade. I'm really looking forward to this
I shall play the shit out of this
holy shit it looks soo good, and that repair method somehow reminded me of tribes, i am looking foward to it

They've said Renegade X team can do what it likes as long as it doesn't sell the game.

I'm pretty sure that people at the studio that closed gave the permissions, so something bad could possibly happen.
Also they cannot accept donations as well.

The same thing happened to the team behind Streets of Rage Remake
They ended up having to stop all development.
Come on, they won't just cut it right before release after letting them work on it for so long with their permission.
[sp]right?[/sp]
If I was in their position and EA sent a cease and desist at this point, I'd just anonymously release it anyway and play dumb, "I dunno, they hacked our servers or something."
I don't know why you guys keep on thinking that EA will send them a cease and desist. EA may be incompetent, but they're not mustache-twirling cartoon villains out to destroy video games. The project has been in works since 2006, so EA has had 8 years to shut them down. Instead, EA has done the exact opposite and provided their blessing and permission to work and release this, under the condition they do not profit from it.

As much as I'd like to believe it, I just don't trust big-name publishers nowadays after SEGA C&D'd Streets of Rage Remake. The makers of that made it over the course of a near-decade as well and finally release it, having asked SEGA multiple times for permission to continue and release. Then they released it and the game gets canned a week or two later by SEGA sending the order.
I'm not saying that'll happen here, but I can understand why people have such paranoia of EA.

heres some gameplay
Oh hey, this releases the day after all the bullshit I have to do this week. Great.
Hopefully ea let's this go, microsoft is also a dick, when it comes to this stuff when they canned that c&c generals halo mod.

there's a difference between getting permission and asking for permission.
afaik the guys behind streets of rage remake asked for permission, but never received an answer and released it anyways.
I want it, you want it, everyone wants it
Give me it now

The difference there is, there was no communication between the team and SEGA so really they took a gamble. I keep a copy of the v5 remake backed up purely to keep circulating it because I believe it's one of the most admirable fan-made games in existence.
It's bizarre though because SEGA trashed that official reboot that was being made. So either they're holding the license because another is in the works or they're just outright being idiots. I do wonder why publishers would care about an IP when it supposedly wouldn't make them any money.

EA is actually pretty supportive of the C&C modding community surprisingly enough. Really just have to look at the two major conversion mods for the first Renegade. Both of them are pretty much stand alone because EA gave them permission to include the executable in the mod.

Even more gameplay, shows off more than one map too.
This game is going to be so greattttt. I love how they've kept nearly everything identical, the scoreboard, the animations, the interiors. It's literally like CnC Renegade 2.0
This is gonna be fucking sweet, I just wish people didn't use 3rd person all the time in the gameplay videos.

I love how the scoreboard is the exact same as in the original except that the player shows up in green which definitely beats the silly little asterisk the original had.
