That is really impressive, It's crazy how far we are with self driving cars now.
people want to ban this company from existing
step it up cunts

Watch as the Tesla cars eventually ban the people from existing
that's awesome!
I can't wait to see those things on the street!
1:30; Tesla: 'Sweet check these out'
why did it stop at 2:30 after the stop sign?
Really taking strides with this, though noticing it stopping a few times as it takes corners, it dead stopped in the middle of the freeway at one point which is just a tad dangerous.
Way this is heading though, some kids may never even have to learn to drive.
why did it stop at 2:30 after the stop sign?
it probably went to close to the other lane. as you can see on the cameras
At 1:32 it slows down behind the joggers until it can see around the corner before overtaking. That's a damn sight better than most humans would do.
why did it stop at 2:30 after the stop sign?
It didn't stop after the Stop sign. The road marking read "Stop Ahead" which was a warning telling drivers to slow down as there'd be a Stop sign up ahead that would be revealed quickly and could potentially surprise you. It stopped perfectly at the Stop sign.

That's actually fucking brilliant. I had no idea that's what it was doing. I thought it was just the fog messing with the cameras and the car reacting badly, but now I see it was awesome how it handled the situation and waited until it could see around the bend to start overtaking.
As a software developer, I can't even imagine how complex the programming behind all of this is. Blows my mind.

Well technically they already are on the street!

Just waiting for that update that will turn them into self driving cars all of a sudden over night..

If you look carefully, it stops at the stop sign and then it comes to a complete stop in the middle of the road at 2:34 after it makes the right turn.
I wonder how long untill someone passes their drivers with a driverless car without knowing how to drive? It makes me wonder if it can park itself so effortlessly.

no?
it stopped at the stop sign then took a right and came to a complete halt then continued driving

Neural networks simplify task such as this one quite a bit. All you need is a lot of training data and this is something Tesla doesn't have problem with.
no?

Looks to me like it pulled a bit too far over to the left and saw the car to it's left, and thought it was in it's path. It's still probably a year or more away from release so I'm sure they'll have it worked out by then.

true.
but still, it's quite some work.

And it isn't much programming problem as it is math problem, especially linear algebra with shitload of numerically stable algorithms
any reason why it was stopping after making right-angle turns?
no?

my bad. I still don't think it passed over the stop line, but the halt after it takes the right turn is weird.
