I don't know how I feel about them including the JJ-prise in the game with this update. I feel like the whole game should take place within one timeline save for one-off missions or arcs, and having the JJ-prise present permanently in the Prime universe kind of screws with things, no?
Is this the VR game?
Well this isn't the prime universe since the game is in its own verse
That's true in terms of canon, but isn't it presented as the Prime verse? Games like Armada and Elite Force are also technically in their own verse but they were presented as being in the Prime universe; the only thing making them not truly Prime is the lack of consistency in post-series stories through the franchise.

IIRC only the shows and movies are canon, everything else is B canon. It could have been brought over via a mirror universe incursion as they revamped that recently.

This is just a one-off crossover thing, the Kelvin Timeline stuff will probably just end up in a lockbox.

https://www.arcgames.com/en/games/star-trek-online/news/detail/10029633-star-trek-online%3A-kelvin-timeline
The sheer destruction from the Hobus supernova has weakened the barrier between our reality and one strangely similar to our own, leaving a strange temporal anomaly in its wake. This anomaly serves as a gateway between our universe… and a quantum universe both similar and different. Interdimensional travel between these two realms is now a possibility… as the crew of the U.S.S. Kelvin found out to their dismay… Players will soon be able to journey to the alternate reality seen in Star Trek and Star Trek Into Darkness. A new mission awaits our captains there, along with other exciting surprises! Look for future updates on new Star Trek Online content as the launch day approaches, and we’ll see you in-game for the release of Agents of Yesterday!
The timeline is just known as "Kelvin Timeline" now since the timeline divergence occurred after its destruction. You meet a Kelvin Constitution, the U.S.S. Yorktown in the mission "Terminal Expanse".

Kelvin as like a way of keeping the ship and it's brave crews memory alive or something and that the crew of the Constitution Class Kelvin "found out to their dismay" about the rip in time space that took them to the prime reality, but yeah... Sort of misread what they were trying to say. :pudge:
I haven't played this since the Romulan expansion, I should check it out again. Have there been any major additions since then besides new ships/missions?
I haven't played this since the Romulan expansion, I should check it out again. Have there been any major additions since then besides new ships/missions?
Time travel and a complete revamp of the Mirror Universe stuff
I haven't played this since the Romulan expansion, I should check it out again. Have there been any major additions since then besides new ships/missions?
Good lord there are too many things to count. Raised cap to 60, endgame specialization trees, almost a dozen endgame reputation systems, Admiralty which allows you to send your ships out on assignments (like Duty Officers), Item Upgrading, R&D has been revamped, and the expansion adds the TOS Federation alternative faction. They've also continuously revamped missions so the game flows better story and progression wise.
