Even though I love Just Cause, I was always worried this would have too many similarities to Just Cause but it very much looks like its own game. And September! That's sooner than most anything shown at E3.
reminds me of a third person far cry 2
the exploration aspect of it

Reminds me of a Mad Max of Mad Max to me.
my god
how will I find the time to play this and MGS 5 and they release the same damn day
[editline]17th June 2015[/editline]
rip free time for the games coming out the rest of this year

That's not reassuring.

Yea I always loved the vehicular combat in FC2.
...wait
Melee combat kind of reminds me of witcher 3 a bit
Wish the colors weren't so washed out, I much preferred the vibrancy of Fury Road.

PC version will no doubt get a SweetFX mod that colorizes it to look more like Fury Road.
Someone on Neogaf even edited a gif to make the game look more like the movie:

imo the game should look like this
it would be great if the game was truly trying to do it's own thing, but it's taking so much from the movie anyway that they might as well colour correct it or w/e appropriately as well
High octane seems to be the new buzzword.
I'm going to buy the shit out of this

That's because George Miller wanted to make the film black and white, but accepted that doesn't play well in general release. Still meant to be the best looking version of the film, and it'll be on Blu Ray, but he still wanted a great vibrant look for the colour version.

Hot damn that is beautiful.
Honestly, if it weren't for the new gameplay trailers I wouldn't have believed you if you had said that it wasn't pre-rendered cause this is gorgeous.

It's too bad that the game is taking its "de-saturated" look and feel from The Road Warrior. I feel Fury Road's color scheme works much better here.

I've been hearing the opposite. Pretty much everywhere I've read says that the vehicle combat is a load of fun, though the on foot gameplay isn't anything too special. I don't mind though, since the focus of the game is the car combat.

The melee combat looks like the standard Arkham combat, which is fine.
No one's buying this game for the melee combat anyway.
This reminds me quite a bit of RAGE.

from what I was told the car combat is far too complex and relies very heavily on auto aim. idk why people are disagreeing with what I've heard. Do you not think that is what I've heard? Regardless I'm not saying its going to be garbage but I'm not expecting anything spectacular. Keep in mind we live in an age where great games (for some reason) don't send out press copies, where games ship with game breaking bugs, etc etc.
This looks fantastic. I hope the map is huge since the Just Cause devs are making it.

Yeah... perfect start of a uni semester... Time to fail a lot of courses I reckon... Also just cause 3 for those interested. There are too many open world games coming.
If i'm not mistaken, this video is 9 minutes long.

Every game has its own irks when it comes down to actual gameplay.
But it's gonna be Batman-esque melee combat which should nice, some shooting, impressive vehicular combat..

I was literally just about to post about me being disappointed that it's all washed out...
This just makes me want it to look like this even more.

I generally enjoy what we're calling "Batman" esque combat.
For most games that use it(Looking at your Shadows of Mordor) it works well and it does it's job just fine. I don't know what to really expect from a beat em up game anymore, as no one really makes 3D beat em ups that are worth a damn outside of this style to my knowledge.
The batman system of combat is pretty basic though, it's attack, and counter, mix in some goodies for effect, but basically just time your counters correctly and you'll survive. They up the challenge of this quite a bit by mixing in enemy types. In that video there, the guy shows the most basic enemy types failing to attack him because he just mashed counter, but it also didn't show any enemies with knives, batons, shields, guns, armor, and it would just not really work to win that fight as you'd be staying there for a while as enemies can take a good deal of hits when they're spaced out. To me, the Batman combat system is engaging because it asks you to excel at it and makes doing so a good experience by giving a good deal of variety in it's goodie bag.
A lot of the games that copy this, are hamstringed by failing to give those same level of goodies, so they don't do it as well. But the system itself is a pretty solid one. I would like people to innovate upon it a bit more than we are now, but honestly, does anyone really have any good ideas for a combat system for a brawler beat em up that can work on a controller?
For Honor is looking good in that category but not many people really have many thoughts on that concept really. I wonder how hard it is to actually figure something out that is engaging, has a decent skill floor and skill ceiling and relies on the player pushing themselves.
