Oh my god that is fucking terrifying.
The shark was all "what's up with this guy?"
this is literally my worst nightmare
Man if that water was clearer they might have spotted it before he made the jump.
Also he shouts shark right after he comes back up from the water after he jumps maybe he was trying to get him killed :tinfoil:
"Fights off", that shark had no intention of harming him.
Scary shit anyways
Now that's a story to tell the grandkids
Seems a tad fake imo
Seems a tad fake imo
ah facepunch, you never disappoint
Seems a tad fake imo
Yeah, not sure why the camera jumps during that first few seconds. Maybe he's got a protective suit on or something that we can't see

Eh, he's got bare legs though. idk, that camera jump still looks fishy regardless
Witnesses reported the water immediately turning a vague shade of brown.

You mean the jump cut from when he puts the camera on till when he's ready to jump? It's obviously not fake. If it were fake why would he feel the need to exaggerate the story in the title?

Click bait.
The shark jumps 0:58 too.
The way editing is this day, it's hard to believe anything is real, honestly.
The movements of the water and how deep it looks during some portions suggest this is fake, but even if it is you gotta admit the editing job is pretty top notch.

i see no jumping of any kind
As someone on youtube points out:
0:58-1:00 shark changes position
Still a scary ass video
Pretty obviously fake. At like 1:06 the sharks swims away from him but as soon as the camera comes up out of the water he's like directly next to the shore
Seems a tad fake imo
The thing that tells me it's fake is his reaction coming out of the water. I wouldn't take off mycamera and be like "wow kewl!" I would have been yelling up at my friends, who are up on the cliff probably about to jump in, not to jump down because there's a fucking shark in the water.

i keep watching and literally all I see is buddy see the shark coming towards him and he flails his legs, as the shark keeps swimming. I guess you can say it changes position because it's swimming but that's not really important

I would. knowing I just caught footage of a great white. I'd definitely look at the camera and be all "yooo!"

His friends knew about the shark, they were yelling at him about it. Also the shark jump at about 1:00 is probably just his head snapping as he panics about the shark and is trying to decide what the fuck to do.
I can't guarantee it isn't a fake of course, but if it is it is extremely well done. Matching the lighting and perspective of the shark footage with his footage swimming around would be very challenging without the use of cg, and it definitely didn't look like cg.

Man, are you guys serious? His head/body jolts to the side out of surprise. You can follow it. Even if it was an edit, that edit would make no sense
Sharks aren't always instantly vicious, yo. Sometimes they just wanna see what's up.
At 1:00 we see the shark move away - until it disappears, going down and out of sight, at a minimum distance of about 8 meters, at a depth of lets say 2 meters.
But then the camera emerges - revealing that less than 6 meters away is land - and just in front of the land? A shallow rocky underwater incline.
There is no room for that shark to swim in at that distance.
Yet there it is.
Defying physics.
And let's not forget to mention the jump cut between 1:10 to 1:13. What's wrong? Is your great white shark encounter too boring?
I think its fake because if you look at the second shark, its close enough to the surface of the water for its fin to breach it, but you dont see any wave shadows on its back as you would normally see on sharks that are near the surface of the water, as a matter of fact, the shark in the video just glows brighter, that's not natural.
I'd expect something like this:

I understand that the sun in the video is behind the cliff, so there isn't much light in the water, but I still think there is enough light to cast at least some strong wave shadows on the shark.

Perhaps, but i don't think a lot of people will remain really calm when a damn shark comes straight at them.
Maybe there is more than one?

I thought at first this wasn't a fake, but then I noted that the sharks were actually two different ones. (00:43 / 01:06 the marks on the caudal fins are different)
After that I noticed that in the footage under water the waves were large, as if it were shot far into the sea, but over water there are only shallow waves. It's particularly noticeable from 00:40.
This convinced me beyond a shadow of a doubt that this, unfortunately, is fake. And it's probably a viral GoPro ad.
And I don't think it's that difficult to take some footage with a shark and overlay some swimming footage. CorridorDigital can do it essentially without a budget, so why can't a company with a huge budget like GoPro? Perhaps they just lowered a greenscreen into a pool or something.
Just a note, fake or not, they clearly intended there to be more than one shark / there is more than one shark.
And you can see the sharks swimming under water from before he jumps. At the right of the water near the shore.
Though there are several fishy things...
This dude is an idiot. The only reason the shark checked him out was because he was flailing around like an idiot.
Good thing he had the time to stare at it for several seconds and get a good shot with this GoPro.

As if anyone could stay calm in that situation unless they had experience with sharks in the past.
