I have honestly no idea if this is real or not, but they have a site with a pre-order so who knows

I ordered six.
Human beings need connection. We are social creatures.
that poor boy keeps on getting shit on in life
This is soo sad
his wife is a holographic screen on a coffee machine.
I'll take 2. One for me and one for my son.
This looks cool
It is not difficult to understand why there is a growth rate problem in Japan..
Welcome to the future boys.
To be honest a voice assistant which can turn on shit seems pretty helpful. If you can get past the cringe, that is.
this is too sad to watch

I honestly think this is a response to that problem. This could help a ton with suicide prevention and developing social skills in people that don't interact enough.
Even though I know that this is just an ad, watching the part where he was texting with the AI made me feel genuinely sad.

Also, it looks like a fucking coffee maker.
That's a good logo design.
I remember seeing something almost exactly like this on kickstarter, except instead of just being a test tube waifu, it's an IoT hub for all your smart bullshit :v:

It's also got a tiny holographic raccoon butler which is way cooler than an anime character
Not biased or anything
This is unabashedly human interaction replacement technology. How depressing. It's even more depressing when you realize there's no way it works that well and all you're left with is a frustrating and disturbing uncanny valley anime wife.
That was depressing.
Like, it's a cool piece of technology, but god damn.
Now you can be a "productive member of society™" without having to worry about satisfying your need for human interaction! With Gatebox you can now wake up, work all day, then immediately go to bed when you get home without having to directly face your crippling loneliness!
How can Google Now even compete?
I heard a rumor that the second release is going to have a hole for your dick. Will hold off until then.
I need one...

I'd buy it if it was John Cleese as a butler.

That logo reminds me of

If this had an english voice and worked liked Amazon Echo I'd want it more then Alexa
a) why is it limited to Japan and USA
b) why is there only 300 units for sale
[editline]14th December 2016[/editline]
because I want one
To be honest a voice assistant which can turn on shit seems pretty helpful. If you can get past the cringe, that is.
amazon echo can do that
I wish I was talented enough to make a Whiskey in the Jar cover about waifus in a jar.
I was about to make a waifu joke until I watched the video.
That was just sad, good god.
As a second thought, this reminds me way too much of the Black Mirror christmas episode. I'm now feeling uncomfortable.

What? No, it's going to do the exact opposite of that. Why go out and meet and talk to real people when I already have a hologram waiting for me at home that I can text and talk to?
