Wow the music sounds top notch for this; plus the amazing visuals.
Excited for a multi quest monster that will keep geralt on his toes
This is going to be so fucking good. The Witcher 3 is overrated for a reason, I tell you.
You know what would be a really big twist? If the monster is just a regular monster that needs slaying.
CDPR would be insane not to put Dandelion in this. I don't care if it conflicts with his character development, I need him in it to be my wingman when I'm patrolling for royal, noble, peasant, and succubus booty. I want to have another "fucking idiot actually went in" moment.
It's worth going with Iorveth in TW2 just so you can hang out with dwarves
I can already see gaming "journalism" reporting the expansion as even more sexist.

I have a much different memory of W2 from choosing the Roach path. Need to try Iorveth's sometime

That was easily one of the best things about The Witcher 2, when you choose Roche or Iorveth you basically get two very different games

I think Overrated is the wrong term to use. It implies it doesn't deserve it's thousands of awards, when we know it does.

And you only get a full story out of the game's events if you play both. [sp]Also having the ability to accept that Letho and Geralt have no hostility between them in the end[/sp] That's some top-notch story-telling in a game.

[sp]Having Letho show up in TW3 and even being able to recruit him to Kaer Mohren just shows how damn good their writers are.[/sp]
Now if only Mass Effect would take notes from CDPR's book.
I've noticed with my combat it feels very floaty. When I was attacking drowners, I slice them but it doesn't give much feedback. They sorta float backwards but don't otherwise show they've been damaged. Is that how combat is or?

That's what I mean, I couldn't think of how to convey my thought lol
shit, man. i never knew how badly i want to live in a medieval paradise until i watched this trailer.
they better have a grape lady falling joke hidden somewhere in this

It's the same for me but I think I've got too spoiled because of Dark Souls.
I really want to play the game because it looks fantastic and I love the story but the combat is just too boring for me.

It reminds me of the Shire. just without the hobbits. Though, there are hobbits in witcher 3 so I wonder if they will make another apperance.
I'm insanely excited. :excited:
This will be good.
I really want Dandelion to show up there considering his connection to the place, depending on when this expansion takes place it might not be entirely out of the question from a plot perspective.

Gonna be kinda hard since women run Toussant from the background, and the brothel in the trailer had more man-candy than women of agile repute.

There are four people capable of writing at that level of quality in the entire company, not going to happen ever.
This almost looks like western european type monsters and region. I know vampires were in the original game, but this guy/these guys look like western vampires. Plus the region is obviously france.
its nice to have a popular video game that elicits european folklore and historical settings for global consumption for once

you already get a lot of americana, dismal futures and ancient rome, if you know what i mean
Another great thing about the Witcher, is despite it's high fantasy setting, it's a quite realistic and believable universe. It's medieval as fuck. Pretty much the only other universe coming close is A Song of Ice and Fire.
And once this Expansion launches, time to go back to binging on The Witcher 3. I've only completed one play through, which took 58 hours, and still had a fuck ton of things to do. A new save will let me run through the base game and both expansions in what will probably eat up the next three weeks of time.
A friend bought me the first couple games and I think I'll binge on those next week to pick up TW3
Every time one of these Witcher trailers comes out, I wish I understood what was so addicting about this series that makes people hold it up as the greatest RPG of the land. I got 2 free through XBLA, and 3 from a friend who was done with it, and in both cases I failed to get absorbed. I found the riposte system to be incredibly unintuitive and the whole delivery to be a bit too MMO-y for a single player RPG. It's not that I don't want to like it; I like the universe, I like the attention to detail, and I love Gwent, but the meat of the game just doesn't engage me. Everyone I've talked to in person about 3 says the same thing: "An incredible accomplishment, but not my cup of tea". I've been thinking about getting back into 3 and giving it another chance, but not if it's a game that I should already be hooked on from the first hour. Is this worth a considerable time investment, or should I just give Far Harbor a shot instead?

I think I read somewhere when it released that its recommended to play on a high difficulty, when I played I went straight into death march and I thought the combat was really good, maybe raising the difficulty will make the combat better for you.

The universe and the attention to detail was what got me hooked; the writing, basically. To me, the combat could've blown goats (as it indeed did in TW1 that first got me addicted) and I likely still would've played it through to the end.
I believe the reason it's being touted as "the greatest RPG of our time" is because it accomplishes almost all the aspects that people tend to look for in western RPGs: Open world, good writing, fast combat, and some new ideas that makes it stand out.
I love the way Geralt pulled out his sword when he first saw the monster. It just makes it look like he's thinking "Another day on the job" or "Here we go again".

Well in fairness ever since he completed the trial of the grasses all he's been doing is fighting and killing monsters and humans/humanoids. If there's one thing CD Projekt Red did perfectly with witcher 3, it's how realistic and lively they make the game feel compared to any of its peers in the open world RPG scene. The game itself is far more than the sum of its parts, despite the flaws it has.
