That looks so satisfying.
So the entire game is based up on gear only? No skill-play or location based damage?
There is a headshot bonus but yeah it's mostly gear.
So the entire game is based up on gear only? No skill-play or location based damage?
There is a bunch of skill play; but yeah headshots are where most damage is along with the gear you have and what you're specced towards. You can also run high crit builds dependent on the gear you have. Honestly you have to watch a video on the skills it really changes up the gameplay in huge ways. This game is more tactical than you'd think [editline]f[/editline] but yeah like he said below me, it is one of those rarer shooter-rpg mixes
That's kinda disappointing.
Well it is an RPG-shooter like Destiny. If you want a more traditional Tom Clancy shooter, Ghost Recon: Wildlands will probably have more traditional 'realistic' damage mechanics.
Seems ultra punishing for newer players. I hate snowball effects like that and I always prefer it when games are based around some kind of skill base.

(which only matters for opening chests, buying dark zone loot, etc) Those 3 people had the exact same chance to get the guns the main guy did; they just didn't. Idk, the crazy skills and mixes of builds in this game are what makes me think what you're saying wont be as bad. I was able to kill higher and better geared people than me with good tactics
Oh yeah, the problem here is that the kids keep telling them to get out of their specific part of the area (at least they warned him), but the guy was baiting them to shoot him and he knows he'll come out on top.
he didn't have loot, no point to kill him even if he eggs it on :v:
Yeahhh, purple 1911, purple M1A, and the yellow derp. No matter what anyone says that's almost insta death for anyone who dares step into it.
I think the kids were more afraid that he'll kill them or steal their kill or something.
apparently they say (from the youtube comments someone translated a part) "Apuntadle con las armas" = "Aim at him with the weapons" 0:32 "Cuidado es rango 12" = "Be careful, he is rank 12" (dark zone) "Qué más dá?" = "Who cares?"• [editline]22nd February 2016[/editline]
Yeahhh, purple 1911, purple M1A, and the yellow derp. [DEL]That was absolutely ridiculous, whoa yeah "The Division" so cool rolling in an apocalyptic L.A. with the tacticool rifles and shit, this would surely get all the survivalist-operator kids excited![/DEL] edit: god damn it sorry. I guess this user-made video didn't sell the game too well, for me.
Yeahhh, purple 1911, purple M1A, and the yellow derp. No matter what anyone says that's almost insta death for anyone who dares step into it.
I had 3 purples in the beta, 1 Headshot from my M44 would do something ludicrous like 6000 damage and my Police M4 had like, 4000 DPS :v:
Is it bad that I found the name SuperhotdogXD really amusing?
There is a headshot bonus but yeah it's mostly gear.
Sounds like dayz. Not that it's a bad thing.
Even worse. They're from South America (probably).
Nope, theyre from spain, you can notice in their accent, no other country that speak spanish does have that accent
That looks so satisfying.
Satisfying would be 3 players with the same in-game 'ability' and being able to take on all 3 with skill Not, 'oh i have better stuff than you so it means i will beat you every time we fight' There's no satisfaction in that
Don't forget he pulsed and was spec'd to do extra damage to pulsed enemies
Satisfying would be 3 players with the same in-game 'ability' and being able to take on all 3 with skill Not, 'oh i have better stuff than you so it means i will beat you every time we fight' There's no satisfaction in that
If I wanted that I would go play a competitive shooter then? I haven't really been following this game but IIRC, It's a progress based game. people who have lived longer are probably going to be better equipped then others.
Don't forget he pulsed and was spec'd to do extra damage to pulsed enemies
Exactly this. Seems like they should have backed down as soon as they saw him pulse. He was rearin for a fight, they knew it, they picked it anyway, got splashed.
He was baiting them, but two of the kids were already being right cunts and threatening him and shit. The third one was the only one that was hesitant and practically going "this probably isn't a good idea". Naturally it seems the third one was the one that lived the longest.
Seems ultra punishing for newer players. I hate snowball effects like that and I always prefer it when games are based around some kind of skill base.
It is but it isn't at the same time. The nice thing is that PvP only happens in the Darkzone, which is a completely separate gated off part of the map, that you also enter a safezone before you go in. If you die, you only lose the stuff that you picked up while you were there, so no massive loss of items, and the DZ inventory is super small, 6 items. It also does have a loose skillbase attached to it, mainly in the sense that there are a list of actual skills that you can spec towards, one of which was that pulse the guy did, and all the gear has attributes to it, which can either make you DPS higher, your health/stamina higher, or your general skill use more effective, or a combination of the three with higher geared equipment. In my short time inside the DZ, I ran into a quite a few players that were rather nice, which is super rare for me in online games, I usually get gunned down in a second but this game was actually the exception. I stayed away from the rouge agents as they would most likely shoot me down from thinking I was there to do the same thing to them, which is understandable. [editline]22nd February 2016[/editline]
How do crits work? Is it RNG or will a headshot count as a crit and I can modify it to do an insane amount of damage?
Headshots will always crit, and you can modify it with gear/weapon wods, it's jsut a matter of finding the gear that has the crit or headshot damage attribute on it.
Seems ultra punishing for newer players.
Well it is an RPG-shooter like Destiny. Unless it's a certain type of PvP, which is uncommon.
What are you even saying
Why can players (and also NPC's in this game) soak up so much bullets without dying, while the other three didn't? And if not LA, it sure looks like an apocalyptic city roughly the likes of L.A.
