Pretty awesome. I have a 50mW greenie. Not built though. This thing will instantly kill your eyes in 0.1 sec. Always wear Goggles.
The fact that any idiot can own this and just wave it around without restriction scares me deeply.
That's pretty sick.

Well, I'm in Canada. It is allowed, but I won't go crazy pointing at planes, helicopters or at somebody's eyes. I was never in trouble with it. I won't even let my friend try.
Sure would suck if you mishandled this and whilst it falling it rotated and beemed past your skin.
I wouldn't feel safe having one of those in my house.
I would use it against robbers. If someone break into my house. :smug:
They'd sue you

You must be Australian.

Self defense.
:smug:
Oh wait, I just watched it, I stand corrected.
So could it cut through something stronger, like maybe a piece of metal?
Well he said for beginners, you can start with this.

We all know its dangerous, but it is interesting. For me anyway.
So is it like burning through his walls in the instruction video or what?
So is it like burning through his walls in the instruction video or what?
People often exaggerate on how many things in can burn. Like what you said, walls. I won't, it's not 100W or some military laser. 1W is about the limit of someone having a laser.

From the comments section:
Hey, just a question... what are you using to block the laser? You know, to stop you from burning a hole in the wall?

@Lord13ubbles11
I didn't think of that when i filmed this video...so there are burn marks all over the wall lol
What a genius
ahahaahahaah
you can use any non lethal force to defend yourself in self deference.

1000 watt power supply, run a spinning glob of 1000 of these, fire strob.
Where do I get the bits?
I can see this being a new way of mugging people, run up a to a guy and shine this in his eyes so he's blinded, then steal his shit.
Powerful lasers should be restricted, I mean seriously, they are dangerous.
Put that in a gun instead of a barrel, and connect the wires.
Instant Awesome Weapon.

Don't even need bullets.
That being said I wonder if we could be able to make 3 kW lasers at home.
Anyone have a price on how much the one in the OP Costs to make?
I would be interested in making it and using it to make campfires or just burning ants.
[editline]01:40PM[/editline]
Whoops the video says 130 USD.
I'd keep this by my bed and go all jedi on people's asses.
Just looking at the thing without glasses would blind them anyway.
If only I had the attention span to pull this off..
You could always buy them if you don't feel like making one.
I would love to take this to school and light things of fire.
I've always imagined using these powerful lasers on those games where the prizes are hung on a corkscrew mechanism by a plastic thing. If you shine the laser at the plastic, it'd melt it and drop the prize.
You can get a bunch of cool shit this way.
