That's awesome. Hell of a way to showcase it.

"Google Glass is coming. Bend over"
Glass is going to be amazing when it comes out.
Yeah Woo
Haha that's badass.
Christ, I've never heard so unenthusiastic than the guy at the end.
Sergey really had this Doc Brown air about him, just running onto the stage, interrupting Vic, wearing some crazy-ass glasses he just finished inventing and asking if anyone wants to see something cool
I could see this being used for sports entertainment. If they made it cheap for the average consumer to buy, people would be bringing these out for paintball battles, kayaking, all sorts of things.
This is really cool technology.
I'll definately get a pair.
Any idea on what they'll cost?
Can you imagine 40% of the USA wearing these and streaming to some website, the amount of bandwidth that would chew through? My god
How can one company be so amazing...

By actually caring about the consumer and innovation more than making easy money by ripping people off.

Guys, we've finally made it to the future.
I want to know if its built to be able to run opencv and an html5 dom capable web browser?
I wonder if it will have any kind of display similar to Samsung's transparent glass.

It's barely built to do jackshit atm, it's still 6 months away from even the "rough around the edges" release to an extremely limited number of developers
I don't mean to be "that guy", but this is nothing new, just a camera mounted on a pair of eyewear, I'm waiting for actual projected onto your eye display technology. On top of that the video stream is jerky and problematic looking.
The other demo is basically this with a bunch of shit edited over it.

Preorders are $1600 or there abouts
What are these, really? I mean they're fucking cool, but how is it differing to any other webcam? Is there any other difference than the obvious amazing visuals, but can/will it do anything else?

Completely handfree interaction, if I understood it right. No buttons, stylus or screens, just a heads-up display and voice commands. One step beyond smartphones in terms of involvement in your daily life, basically. I think the whole idea is that this is supposed to do what smartphones do, but with complete real-life integration.
So essentially you anti-social nerds who pull out your cellphones and pretend to text people as a way of defusing awkward social situations; you are fucked if this becomes mainstream. :v:

I am fucking blind.

$1500, but that's for early adopting developers ordering a prototype.
I think people are forgetting that this also features a HUD.
Hexxeh ordered a pair, as far as I know, so I'm excited to see what he thinks about them when he gets them in next year.
