American Isolationism was more about staying out of European affairs/wars than anything else. We had no problem getting involved in other parts of the world namely Asia(Japan, Boxer Rebellion, Open Door Policy, mediating peace in the Russo-Japanese War) and Central and South America(Panamanian Independence, Spanish-American War, and numerous coups). But as the video said, after World War I the U.S staying out of European affairs was no longer possible although we didn't fully realize it until we got pulled into World War II.
