How the hell does this sequence work in a multiplayer game?

put each player in a separate instance or phase and penalize them individually if they fail the QTE thats how blizzard would do it anyway It would probably be a raid wipe if it were a blizzard thing actually

Succubus is solo only I think. Also I watched some more videos and if you miss one side of the QTE she drains your health to 1 :v:

So it's pretty easy to switch to a channel with very few players on it, to very many. And dungeons only allow up to 4 players. Certain bosses allow up to 8, and raids are 24 players I think. So they could really get away with visuals. But yeah, I get what you're saying. Just look at FFXIV. That game looks incredibly pretty.
