That pupil stuff looks sick!
honestly I question if this game will ever really release every time I hear about it it's got something new and awesome like this, and that's great! but I question if it'll ever really see the light of day for a long time
why does a space trading sim need gary oldman and crazy facial animation
why does a space trading sim need gary oldman and crazy facial animation
Because why not, it's not like they're gonna run out of money, right? Right?
why does a space trading sim need gary oldman and crazy facial animation
They're pretty much trying to push video games forward. Pretty much everyone has heard of Star Citizen, so if they can pull this off and still have a good game by release, developers will have to start taking notes. I only hope it doesn't end up being a giant pile of clunk because of how many genres it's trying to cover.
why does a space trading sim need gary oldman and crazy facial animation
for the fully voiced and acted singleplayer campaign. Duh.
why are they wasting money on dynamic wrinkle technology, jesus christ who cares
because one of the objectives of this project is to push PC graphics to the limit without holding back for consoles. They established this goal very early on.
Honestly, the eyes still kinda look dead to me, but not necessarily because of the mocap translation, but maybe because the actor was probably just staring straight ahead, whereas ingame his eyes would be idly scanning the room and invited people, which would lead to small jerky movements. My guess anyways. Mouth also looks kinda weird, tho I don't have a guess for what's behind that case. Those are just details, but details are ridiculously important when it comes to making faces and eyes realistic. It's to miss a detail and send the character straight down the uncanny valley, which to me is still where modern realistic games are at the moment, and Star Citizen as well by the looks of it. That said, pretty rad to just lean back and be bombarded by a list of subtle stuff they put into the faces, that's a lot of dedication.
To be honest something about the gary oldman senate speech they released looks really off to me
Jesus christ I thought that the dude looked like Gary Oldman, I didn't realise that was actually him. [editline]11th October 2015[/editline] Woah they've got a bunch of people in this, Mark Hamill, Mark Strong, Craig Fairbrass, Liam Cunningham, John Rhys Davies and Andy Serkis. Well at least most of them are actually good voice actors, probably won't end up with another Dinklage in Destiny situation.
why are they wasting money on dynamic wrinkle technology, jesus christ who cares
It's a feature CryEngine already has built in, so it's not like it's something they wrote from scratch. They also now employ like half the people who wrote CryEngine to begin with, so expanding it from 1 map to 3 probably wasn't that difficult.
People try so hard to hate on this game Like literally anything they find they will complain about
Does Star Citizen have unlimited scope or something? It seems massive.
honestly I question if this game will ever really release every time I hear about it it's got something new and awesome like this, and that's great! but I question if it'll ever really see the light of day for a long time
Seriously, I don't get this joke. Games aren't made over night. This isn't another Call of Duty or Assassins Creed where they already had an entire game made previously and all they have to do is create new assets and few thousand new lines of code.
why are they wasting money on dynamic wrinkle technology, jesus christ who cares
So should we all just stop trying to make any technological progress with games and not attempt to create any kind of new technology or techniques?
So should we all just stop trying to make any technological progress with games and not attempt to create any kind of new technology or techniques?
of course, bring the call of duty 786 so they shut up oh wait, they wont
The size of the game is gonna turn a lot of people off guaranteed.
The scope isn't the problem I'm seeing. I'm worried it'll be a whole lot of little things that aren't fleshed out very much. "We've got this awesome technology for faces....but the story isn't that great."
It's probably going to take months just to download a small half of this game. Not sure who can fathom that.

"We've got this awesome technology for faces....but the story isn't that great."
They aren't showing off the story for obvious spoiler reasons, but there has been tons of written lore posted to the site over the past three years that is better than that you'd get out of your typical AAA-tier, so it'll be a surprise if the script is shitty.
The size of the game is gonna turn a lot of people off guaranteed.
Well, sucks to be those people. It's the same way EVE Turned a lot of people off for being a spreadsheet simulator, and yet tons of people play it religiously.
these pictures i just cant [t]http://i.imgur.com/y7YwAap.png[/t]
[t]http://3kv.in/~techbot/ShareX/2015/10/10/a.gif[/t]
By the way, there's a free trial going on right now. Single-player only, but if you've wanted to try the game out without any risk, here you go. The code is CITCONFLIGHT2K15 and it's redeemed here after registering a free account. Please note that the system requirements are a bit steep and the game's currently about 30GB. Optimization bla bla alpha bla and the game's intended to push the limits anyway.

To be honest, I'm slightly underwhelmed by this. Probably because Until Dawn's facial animations are like this but slightly better.
honestly I question if this game will ever really release
It'll release, but it won't deliver in most areas. They're too in love with the tech, new features, and the concept to talk about gameplay. (Which has looked clunky as shit in every demonstration.)
People try so hard to hate on this game Like literally anything they find they will complain about
Anyone who thinks this game is going to be anywhere near the quality advertised is extremely misguided. If you give developers the ability to attempt to push forward the gameplay or graphics of the medium, the overall product will suffer. Very few designers can counter this.
To be honest, I'm slightly underwhelmed by this. Probably because Until Dawn's facial animations are like this but slightly better.
la noire best facial expressions
are they gonna ship the final game out on its own hard drive or what
I'm not complaining, but, can a game like fallout or mass effect please adopt this tech? Cause we spend a lot of time in those games talking to people, and I don't know if that would really be the case for Star Citizen.
