Im not going to lie, the feels from that scene made me remember how cool the triceratops was in the first movie. There is always something about these that always makes you want to touch them

Animatronics definitely fill a gap animation struggles to overcome. Being able to touch and interact seamlessly with the dinosaur definitely made that scene.
I loved that scene. Even though it was really obvious how they were actually touching an animatronic doll (you can't hide that, the movements always give it away), it only added to the charm. I really like it when movie teams don't try to solve difficult situations with CGI by adding even more CGI. Plus it always improves actors' performance, when they actually see what they're doing.
