It's pretty much got the voices, sounds, music, and even 8-way enemy sprites intact. Not quite the same quality as the original, but still. Even for emulation, the Genesis really was an amazing little thing.
I love how absolutely everything is better than the SNES version.
IIRC this is a source port, not just a remake.

The guy made a StarFox tech demo for Sega Genesis, with no SuperFX chip or anything like it.

There's a certain magical appeal to old console homebrew, akin to the demoscene of the C64, etc.
Pushing to see what's possible on such limited hardware.
Speaking of demoscenes, this one for the Genesis is pretty damn cool.
