Just got done watching it.
I DAAAAAAWED, wept manly tears, and am now disgusted in another portion of humanity.
Get some popcorn ready, its 14 minutes of CGI goodness, made using Blender I think.
dat animation!
epic.
holy shit, that is artistic
I understand and appreciate the fact a lot of work went into the animation, but that was pretty bad writing wise.
Hardly original, predictable and seemed to lack in any imagination.
Reasonably entertaining though.

i actually thought that there wasn't such a huge amount work on the animation so much as the render. single frames of the film look absolutely beautiful, but some the motions aren't very well executed.

The objective of the project was to use Blender for a "cinema quality" animation while improving the software as they go, and that's just what they did.
In that sense then they did a very good job.
I personally thought it delivered towards the end.
Beautiful ending. Not always the best, and I was shocked, but it left a nice cliffhanger
I liked it a lot. I wish it was longer, so you could see how things turned out with the baby dragon.

This.
I haven't felt sad in a while. Amazingly made, it made so much sense.
Is it bad that I teared up a little when she realized the big one was actually Scales?
This made me sad. :sigh: Dammit I hate watching sad things because it will be stuck in my head for a few days to a week.

That means the creators did their job right.
Nice to see another short film done in blender, it really is a program that can produce great results.
That is amazing.
Nooooo, whyyyy whhyyy scales!?
It's really nicely done though it could use some patch division & radiosity (=rendering time x 10000 but it looks a lot more realistic).
Edit:
the quality seems to vary a lot during the film

I agree, but I think it was pretty good in the last few minutes.
This was weak, not even close to emotionally moving.
Tell those fucking Youtube commenters to stop posting the ending and any damn part of the movie.
:crying: the ending was sad
I still prefer Big Buck Bunny.
Well damn, what a mood killer.
I was kinda happy coming into this thread hearing about another great blender movie.
She killed her best friend. Man that is sad.
... scales :ohdear:
