Only the equatorial regions are still habitable, yet pockets of humanity survive in small numbers all over the planet, hanging onto existence in the resource-rich territories to the north and south-- resources that everyone wants to control… Protect the colony in the wastelands of old Russia from raiders, marauders, and strange creatures. Be the saviour. Give humanity a second chance. ARKTIKA.1 is a highly immersive, action-packed, first-person shooter designed exclusively for Oculus Touch. Experience a post-apocalyptic vision of the future like never before; in full VR.[/QUOTE] edit: fucked up the title, it's called Arktika.1, could a mod please fix it?
My god that looks good Throwing that weapon up in the air in the middle of a firefight looks like an easy way to get killed though.

I don't know about you guys, but for me those flying hands just kill all the atmosphere. Looks like took them directly from one of those disney cartoons or something, and i just can't take the game seriously because of them. I mean, i understand it's hard to make actually working hands for a game with no preset hand animations, but that's kinda a part of the challenge of making this type of games, i guess.

Have the arms anchored somewhere behind the camera (about where they'd be on a traditional view-model), make the hands be the end-points (or "effectors", to use IK nomenclature), of the chains, and then just let the IK solver do the work. Actually, I suspect that'd work really well. I kinda wonder why they didn't elect to do that.
Where's my Artyom.

Having used VR, not seeing your arms is nothing. Seeing your hands adds so much immersion. You don't even end up noticing the lack of arms ultimately, you just focus on your hands. It's incredible. I recommend anyone who hasn't tried VR, google your local Microsoft brick and mortar store location and see if they're doing Vive Demo's. My local Microsoft store's done that for the last 2 months, you just show up, sign up, and get a 15 minute demo in VR. It's awesome and will totally erase all your doubts.
