This is by far my personal favorite E3 moment ever. When I was watching Sony's conference live and Tetsuya Nomura came up on screen, I knew shit was gonna go down. The Final Fantasy Versus XIII-- excuse me, Final Fantasy XV gameplay was just stunning. I just really hope that wasn't pre-rendered.
Now, when Nomura said he had "one more project to show off," I nearly jumped. When the Kingdom Hearts games came up one-by-one I thought it was just the 2.5 Remix so I steadied my heart for a bit, slightly disappointed but still hyped nonetheless. Then the part came where Sora jumped out of the book and then the new graphics came, and I just sat there, eyes wide. Then the shot of Destiny islands with the keyblade on the ground came and my mouth started to gape. Sora comes in and picks up the keyblade and I'm trying to hold back screams of joy. And then the logo came up.
I lost my shit.
...and nearly woke up my parents. :v:
I gotta say, unless someone just didn't care for Kingdom Hearts in the first place, this was practically the shot heard 'round the world when it comes to E3, next to Twilight Princess. Considering Kingdom Hearts 2 was released back in 2005, and this December will make it a decade old, this has been a long time a-comin' with all those spinoffs and interquel games. To the point that HD Remixes aside, Square-Enix technically skipped an entire generation with the PS3 and all, sticking instead to the PSP and DS until the 3DS came out for Dream Drop Distance.

God, I had a long ass week during E3 2013. I was working all week for some big event at the arena I work at. I think it was America's got talent or something of that nature (can't remember what exactly.) I got home, bummed as all hell but glad the day was over. Then I saw the headlines all over the internet. My heart fucking stopped, and I was forced to steady myself because I couldn't fucking believe it, it HAD to be a joke.
Then I saw the trailer. Then afterwards I needed to go change my pants.
There are no words to express how hyped I am for this game.
That Sony conference overall is imo the best pre-E3 conference I've seen. They absolutely nailed it that year.
The KH3 and FFXV reveals back to back made both of my then-roommates freak the fuck out.
e: Though there was that whole waste of time in the beginning about the Sony Pictures shit. That sucked.

There's also the infamy of the game sharing commercial.

Sure, Sony still did some fuckery by forcing Playstation Plus to be able to play your games online, but quite frankly after the 'always-online Xbox One' fuckery that Microsoft was still reeling from, they firmly put their foot in their mouths and the ball in Sony's court. And damn did they hit back hard.
The Playstation Plus requirement was overshadowed by the Xbone always-online shit. Sony just offhandedly mention the PS+ requirement at the press conference and no one cared because they were still reeling in from how much Sony kicked Microsoft's ass.
To be fair, Sony does alot to make PS+ seem like a decent deal. Tons of discounts, monthly free games, cloud save storage. Plus, its not like hosting multiplayer servers are FREE.
But yeah, it really didn't matter how "shady" that announcement was, because it was still miles better than anything Microsoft could pull out of their ass at E3.
