Because it didn't take quite long enough already.

wow
That lathe and bandsaw work must have taken forever to do. Holy shit.
Surprised I watched all of that. Carpentry is amazing and I'd love to get into it. No idea where to begin with though, if I want to pursue it as a hobby.

jigsaw, router, drill press are the must-have power tools, other than that you'll want a chisel, a lot of sandpaper, a few files and rasps, and maybe a very well sharpened carbon steel knife
I want that shop. All those old heavy industrial machines... Did he forget to route the far left backrest edge at the end? The shorter one had all the edges routed.

And the space to create in. It really does require a lot of space. Garages work well, if you've got one.
Sharp armrests though

Armrests too pointy, 2/10, would not sit on

yeah, space is a big factor. if you're cramped you can't really do anything

What he said.
Wood would also be a good thing to have too.

Definitely look into it. Back in my freshmen year of high school I took woodshop because it was something hands-on and appealed to me, and then I got hooked. I went from building a small box/shelf to building an electric bass and an acoustic bass because I was lucky enough to have a woodshop teacher who builds and plays guitars. I graduate next year and I know one thing for sure is that it's something I want to do for the rest of my life.
If you're just getting started on your own, doing a lot of research helps so much. There's information all over the web on building things along with techniques and other advice. Just a broad Google search can lead you to something good. Recently I've been making a longboard and it's not really hard at all nor requires a whole lot of tools. I learned a lot of pointers and other good information on Silverfish forums before I started building my board. It's the next best thing if there's no one to mentor you or anything. Like butre listed, you'll want tools to get started. Files, chisels, and sandpaper are extremely helpful. You don't have to build anything fancy at first, build something simple that won't overwhelm you. Maybe make something out of a pallet. The list of things you can build never ends, look around for inspiration or build something that ties into other hobbies you enjoy like I did with building a longboard. Also remember keep safety a priority.

Start with simple things, then as you get better progress to harder things. You can find schematics for all kinds of things online.
I used to build furniture (TV consoles, night tables, lawn chairs) back when I had access to a shop. It truly is a fun thing to do. Its always cool building from scratch and getting a final product that is worthy of a show room. A lot of the stuff people build in shops is one of a kind and you can't really find a manufactured product that can compete with it.
I already got the basic tools to make stuff I just don't have the space.
if you're super rich, get a sliding compound miter saw
shit's so hardcore. they're scary as fuck but they cut like crazy.
That was pretty cool. The only stuff I've ever made with wood were some shitty boxes and stuff in high school to house a simple speaker system that I made.
these Paranormal Activity movies get less scary with every sequel
That was a really nice area and workshop. I'd love a place like that

I actually accidentally ran into this video while looking for ASMR ones. The power saws are a bit harsh for me, but I'm a huge fan of the pencilling. Even though I didn't like it (from an ASMR perspective) I was still compelled to watch the whole damn thing all the way through, thinking the whole time how long this must have taken. It's got a very unique sort of charm.

I agree with the saws, they were a bit harsh and high pitched but all the clonks from the wood and those pencils were ace.
