His tools and techniques are actually cooler than the weapon itself.
The handle looks kinda shit
Hahaha, flapping all over the place like it was made of plastic.
Maybe it's just because of it's length or thickness but should it really be flapping around like that

yes
things work differently in reality
Hahaha, flapping all over the place like it was made of plastic.
Get a piece of metal long and heavy enough and it bends surprisingly easy.

Well I've never played ff so I thought it might of been made thicker to compensate for all the wobbling
It's a game, you can create crazy shit and not have to worry about the real life aspects.
I kind of wish he would make Frostmourne, but it might be too detailed of a sword for him to be bothered with
Jesus Christ it looks beautiful

Yeah, I wish his videos would cover more on the side of construction, hell, i could sit in this guys forge and watch him for hours and be entertained, because oddly enough stuff like that i like seeing being made more than i do the end result.

You'd be suprised how flexible metal can be, there are some swords otu there, that would be combat worthy, that you can practically bend in half without snapping and they'll spring right back.
Highspeed footage of normal sized katanas bend pretty crazy too.
yeah, though obviously exaggerated with this blade, swords are designed to flex
it'd be stupid to have a sword made of steel hardened so that the blade is rigid - the slightest tap in combat would pretty much shatter it
Hahaha, flapping all over the place like it was made of plastic.
If he folded it one mirrion times and made it from Japanese steel then he wouldn't have that problem
Blacksmithing is a very intriguing art form.
I don't think i was ever a fan of Katana swords and i think Sephiroth is the main reason why.
...And i have never actually played Final Fantasy 7.
I hope he makes Raiden's HF Blade from Revengeance.
Its like he's whacking stuff with a pool noodle.
I hope he makes Raiden's HF Blade from Revengeance.
fuck that make jet stream sam's Murasama blade with M4 stock sheath. much cooler and probably easier due to raiden's being made out of carbon steel.
While, I have never seen an Nodachi or Odachi in action, it still seems like an awful lot of flex.
the blade itself on sam's sword is generic as fuck though
except not really? the tempered red steel and the grip it's self looks baller as fuck
Your run of the mill katana wont flex much aside from the expected vibrations after an impact, same with a Nodachi. Thing with this blade is that it doesnt even need to be swung to flex, just by holding it out to the side it bends down. The length probably just made the metal to pass some sort of threshold that caused it to lose its innate rigidity at rest. Still plenty durable, though.

not to mention it probably isn't the highest quality steel.
but this guys videos are the coolest.
oh im sorry i guess red makes the sword go faster thats why its the better sword
talkin about overall looks here m8
and all the raiden blade is literally the same thing with an edgier grip and carbon steel.
note: better
(are we really arguing about this)
idk r u
Man at arms is fucking awesome
I wonder if there's a gunsmith out there who'd make guns from games and such.
I want him to try making Ivy's sword from Soul Calibur. It's a sword that looks pretty regular, but can turn into some kind of whip.

and
Talim's swords, they're like police batons but with swords instead on the long part of it. They may seem very ineffective being made that way, but if you've played with her in the games you'll see that the way she uses them could make them effective weapons.
