Accurate
I admire this guy, he has the dedication to play Runescape for more than a few hours without ripping his eyes out right being leaping from the nearest tall building or bridge.
this reminds me i am still paying for runescape.
atleast it's RS 2007
I couldn't even do this for 10 minutes. Doing nothing but high level alchemy for 10 hours is quite the achievement.
The video doesn't even load for me lmao.

Dual monitors. Browsing forums/watching videos when grinding. Full attention when doing bosses, quests, dangerous minigames or PK.
atleast it's RS 2007
I dont see the rationaly behind the "runescape was better in x year!!!!" circlejerk. You see it as better because you were a kid when you played it at that time. Being a kid is fucking amazing, being an adult sucks ass. And when you log in now and see stuff as different its automatically bad. The refusal for change and "older is better" mentality of the community is seriously damaging to the game.
RS in 07 (and the rs07 servers) was a graphically ugly game with lengthy grinds that were impossible to get around. Skills like runecrafting were excruciatingly slow, and even when doing the most efficient of methods, took not hours, not days, but WEEKS of total play time to get 99. Modern RS has multiple training methods for most skills (eg, the runespan - a quicker way to get RC exp. However you make no money, giving you a tradeoff to decide over) as well as various distractions, diversions and minigames to train difficult skills in unconventional and/or fun ways.
Quality of life updates like the "Make X" interface has made skills like fletching, crafting, smithing and herblore lazy afk skills rather than constant attention, constant clicking, arthritis inducing grinds. Items like the charming imp and minigames like familiarization make charm collecting easy and passive, not a constant chore.
New bosses like Rise of the Six, Vorago, Kalphite King and the Queen Black Dragon are more than a big guy with loads of health and maybe ONE special attack.
Seriously, if you look past "omg its not the way I remember it :(:(" it is a far superior game nowadays. Its more responsive now that the tickrate has been increased, it looks better, and it is easier than ever to get in to. With tier 70 gear, equipment that is very cheap nowadays, you can access pretty much 80% of the content. Things like the God Wars Dungeon that used to be rich players exclusive are now accessible, and newer content is designed to accessible but easier/quicker/better as you level up or get new gear, so there is still incentive to play.
Ready for the video of someone watching the video
i can imagine there being one hidden frame containing child porn or something like that

07 is a horse and cart. It has no practical use and the continued existence is purely for novelty or nostalgia. The live game is a car. It is modern, has numerous luxury features to improve the user experience, looks nicer, handles nicer, and gets you from A (level 1) to B (level 99) ina quicker, funner way.

in short: old school is more challenging while the live game is ez-mode casualscape

I dont think time spent =/= challenge.
Arguably finding a tree that randomly appears in a random location every few hours and chopping it down while also having to deal with regrowing roots with the option for gaining firemaking experience at the cost of less woodcutting EXP (evil tree D&D) is far more skillfull/interesting than sitting at one/two trees and chopping them down and occasionally dropping/banking for hours on end.
