I actually live about 2 hours away from Hong Kong and actually witnessed this. It was the coolest storm I've ever seen in my life. I watched it head towards me through the window. I've never seen daylight look like night so quickly from a storm. The water drops were massive.
Oh god it reminds me of The Mist

Get rid of the & on the link and the tags will work.

When I was at an airshow last year there was a storm just like that while the F15's were starting up for the finale. There wasn't that huge grey blob coming in but all the huge water drops coming down and water rushing down the tarmac was the same.
Although it ended the show and we were told to get shelter in the hangers, it felt pretty good after a day in the sun.

it's probably just the result of a military experiment gone horribly wrong and causing interdimensional horrors to travel to our world
What's the big deal? This happens everyday in Oregon.

im pretty sure the rain absorbs the smog as it comes down
Researched and completely normal weather phenomenon or not, I'd still run away like a motherfucker if I saw that.
Happened to me once, I was walking home and I heard something behind me, looked back and saw a massive curtain of rain coming towards me, naturally I legged it and just got into my porch on time.
Looks like someones dumping a huge bucket of water. Incredible.

Maybe for you, but I live too close to the California border for fun Oregon bullshit weather.
And everything changed when the [del]fire[/del] water nation attacked.
Back on top, that's pretty cool looking.
