I fucking hate games that give you awesome murder tools, and then for the people like me who want to be non-lethal its all "NOPE you're gonna spend the whole game strangling people". Come up with some interesting non-lethal tools for once...
So... Should I get this game or no?
Rent it, it's not worth the money because it's short and you don't really do much.
It's a great experience though and things are really fluid and you care about the characters a lot. The environments are also really fucking amazing. I still don't think the game trumps Uncharted 2 though, because Uncharted 2 had an amazing experience, amazing environments, but also really engaging and well made third person gameplay.

Short? It's about 14 hours long and the Multiplayer is superb.

Some people blow through "long" games in no time, and some people don't care for MP.
I like this. I hope Dunkey makes more serious reviews.

It's fantastic
Short? It's about 14 hours long and the Multiplayer is superb.
It took you 14 hours to beat it? Damn.
Anyways buy it I guess if you care about the MP. If you really want to buy it I would just wait until it gets cheap. It's not worth $60, no way.
I rented it on gamefly and I was quite happy, but I would be annoyed if I sucked in to the 10/10 reviews and bought the game right off the bat. It's a great game and there was a lot of effort put into it but in my opinion a game is worth 60 bones when the gameplay feels more fleshed out. It's kinda like dunkey said, there isn't much to the game other than amazing atmosphere and good story. If you feel atmosphere and story are enough for $60 then I guess it's all down to opinion.
I made sure I hunted every square inch of the game for collectables/journals ect

the multiplayer is far from superb
Oh look another zombie game where you shoot at the zombies with guns
Oh look another zombie game where you shoot at the zombies with guns
Quite a bit of it revolves around stealth, not gunning down hoards of creatures

Too bad the girl doesn't understand that :downs:
Oh look another zombie game where you shoot at the zombies with guns
Oh look, someone that makes quick assumptions based on a 3 minute video.
Oh look another zombie game where you shoot at the zombies with guns
They're not zombies.
Of course he only shows the cons of the game. No one should take dunkey seriously anyways.

i dont think you could blow through this very fast. i reckon it'd take longer to get through violent encounters by shooting your way through than it would do to be cleverly stealthy. it's a long game however you look at it. this isn't some 3 hour dishonoured shit

Lol but his qualms with the game are legitimate. I was surprised that his video was actually a serious review.

Are you one of those people that insists The Best Gamer's review of Minecraft was still satire?
Just because he's silly most of the time doesn't mean we should dismiss him when he's serious.
He overexaggerates the flaws quite a bit (of course he does, he's Dunkey), but he definitely has legitimate points. Seriously, speaking as someone who really likes the game and even thinks it's worth full-price: fuck the idiots that called this the PERFECT CITIZEN KANE OF VIDEO GAMES. It has massive, glaring flaws and doesn't "revolutionize" anything, and calling it perfect (or even anywhere near perfect) is just laughably stupid.
This year is pissing me off when it comes to games.
I loved Bioshock Infinite, and this game looks really good, but FUCK I am sick of hearing the gaming media saying they were "PERFECT" games. They took the safe way out. They are not perfect, they are flawed, all games are flawed. But its much easier for them to just wax lyrical about how these are be all end all games- because if you make a single criticism, the fanboys will tear you to shreds.

The worst part about it is that it makes public discussion about the game pretty annoying, too. Just like Bioshock Infinite was for a while after launch, a lot of the "discussion" of this game seems to be either "endless bickering between fanboys and contrarians" or "meandering echo chambers for either side", there's hardly any middle-ground and it's just plain obnoxious.
I dunno I thought Uncharted 3 looked better, played better, and was more interesting.
I think The Last of Us is going to be like Bioshock Infinite where everyone talks about how good it is and praises it as 10/10 and then a month after release everyone has forgotten about it and no one is playing it still.
So... Should I get this game or no?
It's an eh/10.

No, I don't even play Minecraft and I'm just saying how he's making the game look like complete ass when it's not.
He forgot to talk about all of the wooden pallets.
He forgot to talk about all of the wooden pallets.
He should have just played Ellie's "I know, jump on the fucking pallet" line for that. It's like even the developers realized that those puzzles were monotonous and dumb, but had already coded them and didn't want to let the work on the code go to waste.

That's kind of the nature of linear games anyways, no matter how long or detailed they may be. People also mostly stopped discussing Uncharted 2 about a month after release despite massive critical acclaim, because they had exhausted all the interesting things to talk about and moved on to other stuff, but they didn't "forget" it.

Bioshock: Infinite is one of the best games I've played, but the combat was a tad repetitive and the game was to short in all respects.
And don't get me fucking started on the siren.
