This one kinda reminds me of Michael's videos, he goes really deep and in-depth into such a simple subject which is very Vsauce1-like.

[editline]14th August 2015[/editline] This used to be about how video games and real life physics would work together, god damn.
But Game Theory's a complete moron who comes up with really dumb ideas and pushes them out to be facts. Vsauce3 actually explained a lot and went into detail on the theory. He didn't push it to be fact, he merely looked at the possibilities and left the decision up to the viewer.
yeah, that is true, but it still feels that the quality of the videos has dropped.

Just like Game Theory, the evidence is wrong and the conclusions are baseless. Example: The bricks Mario breaks are not Mushroom People. Later on in that same manual, it tells you that the blocks that contain transformed Mushroom People are the ones that reward you with power-ups. Those blocks can't be destroyed, so you're not killing anybody. The other brick blocks are just plain bricks. It also says that Princess Toadstool has the power to undo the spell placed on the Mushroom People, so it's assumed that all the transformed people get changed back once you save Peach. Dropping Yoshi into a pit also isn't evidence of anything. It's a player action, the player's choice. I could make Mario throw himself off a cliff repeatedly, but it doesn't mean Mario is suicidal.
Yeah the dropping Yoshi thing is reeeeally dumb. Forgot about that part.
But Game Theory's a complete moron who comes up with really dumb ideas and pushes them out to be facts.
I'm sorry but I recall he ends every single video with "but remember, that's just a theory"
I'm sorry but I recall he ends every single video with "but remember, that's just a theory"
A theory unfounded in basic logic and unbacked by non-circumstantial evidence is as worthwhile as a scientific paper noone can read He comes up with bullshit ideas and then looks for things he can implement very weakly to try and support them, things like physics formulas that he then goes on to misuse or concepts like "Mario wears red so is a communist" Maybe if you shut your brain off before each video you could get some mild entertainment out of it but I don't find there to be anything intelligent or provoking in his content and that's why I don't watch it
I'm sorry but I recall he ends every single video with "but remember, that's just a theory"
You haven't seen his latest FNAF4 video have you Where he literally says the creator of the game is wrong and he's right
It also doesn't help that this video really screams "Click me!". [editline]14th August 2015[/editline] Hell this is just as ridiculous as the "Mario is a Communist" theory :v:
You haven't seen his latest FNAF4 video have you Where he literally says the creator of the game is wrong and he's right
Was that before or after the creator called him out?
Was that before or after the creator called him out?
Before. also this video is nothing but :clickbait:
Yeah the dropping Yoshi thing is reeeeally dumb. Forgot about that part.
Also really dumb: comparing violence in video games(in this case mario) to the Milgram experiment. The Milgram experiment lead the subjects to believe they were inflicting harm on an actual person. Mario does not make any attempt to make the player believe that they are inflicting harm on anything that can actually feel harm, and nobody who isn't severely mentally underdeveloped is going in believing that they are harming anyone. The lack of that element makes pushing the idea that they are one in the same extemely disingenuous.
vsauce is trash, don't watch his videos.
Everyone knows that Vsauce gets 100% worse with each number you add to it
Why do people still compare anything from a video game to real life? We fucking get it, video games apply a widely different logic to the real world.
Is SMB1's backstory even canon anymore? I mean even SMB3 had a ton of information that got retconned later and it's a helluva lot closer to today's Mario than SMB1 is. I'm pretty sure Nintendo's tendency to ignore all the dark things they implied in the 80s happens because they don't want those things applied to the world and its characters anymore, not because they forgot about them.
He comes up with bullshit ideas and then looks for things he can implement very weakly to try and support them, things like physics formulas that he then goes on to misuse or concepts like "Mario wears red so is a communist"
That was just a joke, but it tells you a lot about the rest of his "theories" where he uses the exact same ridiculous logic and bullshit
Why do people still compare anything from a video game to real life?
That was just a joke, but it tells you a lot about the rest of his "theories" where he uses the exact same ridiculous logic and bullshit
It's mostly his fucking voice that annoys the hell out of me
It's a game with a fat Italian plumber running around jumping on baddies trying to save a princess. Game Theories really are the pinnacle of spergy gamer culture. :hammered:
As far as I'm concerned, any video that begins with a title like that can not only be instantly answered with "no", but can also be ignored. And my other opinion is that it's a character from a Mario game, looking for same deep, inner meaning just seems silly.
I really like this video tho.
-there have been a number of articles and videos... about why Mario might not be... the hero...
Why the fuck is he talking like that? It's fine when they do it if it's something difficult to get your head around or astonishing but it's just a Mario video.
vsauce is trash, don't watch his videos.
Ha-ha, what? How so?
Ha-ha, what? How so?
I wouldn't go so far as to call them trash, but I feel like Vsauce is very much so the lazy modern "pop" science, where people watch a TED talk or with Neil Degrasse Tyson or Bill Nye in it, then think they're qualified to call themselves science loving experts. Kind of the same deal with Vsauce.
I laughed when Game Theory claimed that Mario was a communist because he war red and had a moustache like Stalin.
I wouldn't go so far as to call them trash, but I feel like Vsauce is very much so the lazy modern "pop" science, where people watch a TED talk or with Neil Degrasse Tyson or Bill Nye in it, then think they're qualified to call themselves science loving experts. Kind of the same deal with Vsauce.
to be fair, there's nothing really wrong with pop science per se. after all, things like michael's videos aren't meant for experts or to really teach people about science. they're just fun little facts to spark interest in science among young people. same deal as those science shows many of us had seen when we were kids. this video is really dumb though
You haven't seen his latest FNAF4 video have you Where he literally says the creator of the game is wrong and he's right
Yes, that was a travesty. Not only does he say that the creator is wrong, his basis for saying that is his own theory not adding up.
isn't game theory complete bullshit though? I don't think he's ever serious, but he just puts a lot of thought and effort into making the video and coming up with weird excuses and explanations because his audience loves that kind of thing, and I think it's supposed to be a parody of conspiracy theorists. I don't think he's actually that dumb about this stuff and knows how to game it all.
