I hate it when I'm high as fuck meditating and there's a manhole cover in the way of my spiritual side
You're not going to connect with your spiritual side, lol. Oh man, I know marijuana isn't the miracle drug that the potheads make it to be but this is just ridiculous He gives the most lamest reasons not to smoke. anxiety, getting in the way of my spiritual self, and blocking emotions doesn't really outweigh the benefits of marijuana. He should've focused on the memory aspect, how it "dries" the brain long-term.
So what I got out of this: Cannabis is a tool, not a substitute for air. Great. This is especially irritating because I'm studying computer science theory at the moment, and he's not defining any of the terms he's using.
What the hell is a spiritual connection?
Ahahaha holy shit what a bunch of witch doctor mumbojumbo. If we are going to talk spiritually, marijuana helped me evolve as a person, it basically blasted all my negative traits away. It made me regain my creativity that I lost from a two year long depression. And don't get me started on how it actually relieved me of psychotic symptoms. Just don't. Edit: I do know all the adverse effects of marijuana, especially its effects on memory. However the benefits I get from marijuana outweighs any adverse effect.
Marijuana helps control my depression, anxiety, and ADD. I think I can deal with the so-called "lack of spiritual connection." lmao
"hello I have no idea what cannabis does but I dont like it so I made up my own "facts""
"hello I have no idea what cannabis does but I dont like it so I made up my own "facts""
this is what 90% of the EU parliaments say it really sucks that the independant states in the EU can't try to get it legalized because the EU won't like it and sanction the shit out of them, which is fucking stupid considering jurisdiction concerning a fucking plant is already created out of inane 'facts'
Dr. Malcolm Smith, a naturopathic physician
Can't get more quackish than this.
Can't get more quackish than this.
Don't you see? He's a certified ND which is like one up from MD duh
I actually agree with what he listed in the first minute, and this is from 4 years of having smoked it. While I was doing so, I achieved nothing, I started having anxiety attacks, I didn't have any idea what I was gonna do with my life and didn't want to think about it, and I was extremely withdrawn. This probably all stems from why I was using it though. As with most things it'll vary from person to person as well as the environment you're using it in and how much/how often and what type you're consuming. I practically quit smoking it at the start of the year and my life has improved in general. That said, I had some the week just gone with no perceptible harm done.

I have known a fair few people that have become dependent on weed and it has caused major life problems, and the main issue is that its extremely easy for people to get into the habit of smoking it constantly and just when they are alone/bored rather than on occasions. Yeah it is good in a lot of ways, but nobody should be tricked into thinking its some totally harmless thing, its incredibly easy for a person to go from having never smoked it to smoking it daily to escape their problems, which in turn just creates more problems because you end up sitting around smarked all day and your life goes into limbo.
You hit the nail on the head mate. If you let it become the regular social activity rather than a supplement to one, it's an addiction just like any other.
did he even give any scientific reasons not to smoke? it all just seems like he's talking about "spiritual" crap, apart from the anxiety part. i'm sure smoking regularly does have some bad long term effects, but i'm just an occasional user.
retard
I can understand not wanting people to smoke weed, but they don't need to make up shit pseudo-science to validate their opinion. It's just common logic: If you smoke weed all the time you'll get less done and then you'll worry about the shit you haven't done, and adding an hour of vegetation and general aloofness to your daily routine is a bad idea in general.
"it blocks your emotions" lol u fuckin kiddin me
What the hell is a spiritual connection?
ITT people who've not tripped on psychedelics. Anyway. Weed is nice in occasional use, but smoking daily makes you a fucking zombie on chloroform.
Please tell me "ND" doesn't stand for "Natural Doctor"...
ITT people who've not tripped on psychedelics. Anyway. Weed is nice in occasional use, but smoking daily makes you a fucking zombie on chloroform.
lol more like smoking hourly
lol more like smoking hourly
Nah man, weed is kickass for when you're with buds and just wanna kick back and have some fun and chill out, like maybe once or twice a week ya know. Once you get daily you're treading on loser territory, who the fuck smokes every day like seriously. [editline]25th March 2014[/editline]
Please tell me "ND" doesn't stand for "Natural Doctor"...
Yeah it's Naturopathic Doctor, which is cool cause Naturopathy is definitely an interesting field (albeit a heavily un-examined one and you can't take anything a ND says without a block of salt), but its definitely not within his specialty to talk about this shit. It gets better over time but you really can just haze yourself out for a long ass time if you're stupid with it.
The main problem with marijuana is addiction. Sure some of you would argue that "ohoho I can go without weed easy", when in reality it's not easy, it's an addiction like any other and is really fucking hard to break. Take away a pothead's source of weed and see just how much effort they will go to just to smoke some more, it's insane. The same addiction was destructive in one of my friend's lives. He was doing a graduate mechanical engineering degree, about a year in he started smoking, after that he started hanging out with other potheads and slowly but surely had an addiction to the drug. He seemed fine, though, he'd talk about how it did nothing to him and it helped with any psychological issues he had (Of course, because it does suppress emotions, but it does not block them completely ofc). But after a incident with his parents when they found out he smoked, he suddenly got any financial help from his parents pulled and he couldn't afford his weed anymore. After that he got increasingly desperate and anxious around people, and calling on all his buddies for weed. But to cut a long story short, he dropped out of uni, picked up a full time job at Mcdicks and smoked weed. And that is where he is now, and I don't see that changing any time. Yeah it's safe and whatever in moderation, but damn have you got to be careful not to overdo it or you form a dependency like my friend, fucked up his life completely. You know you've got a problem if you smoke weed more than twice a week.
Once you get daily you're treading on loser territory, who the fuck smokes every day like seriously.
Yeah I'm a weekend warrior too, but smoking every night after X and Y are done is pretty optimal. It doesn't take great intelligence and willpower to be a bonafide productive dude. Any who yeah smoking throughout the day every day can totally suck away your pure essence. Smoking a lot every day for month straight over the summer made me an introspective nightmare; at least I learned a lesson.
keep on laughing you dopeheads, I know you're all too busy with your marijuan injectors to even consider using common sense, but when your hard drugs wear off, you'll see the true detriment that has been blocking your path to spirituality, but by then it'll be too late...
It's just common logic: If you smoke weed all the time you'll get less done and then you'll worry about the shit you haven't done, and adding an hour of vegetation and general aloofness to your daily routine is a bad idea in general.
Are you implying that once you smoke weed you have to dedicate an hour or however long the buzz lasts to being a vegetable? Whenever I smoke I make it a priority to get shit done while I'm high.
marijuan injectors
What are you doing [editline]g[/editline] Woops just realised it's probably a joke. Anyway, don't overdo this shit, it's good shit but overdoing it ruins the feel and makes everything worse. Just like everything, keep a healthy balance.
i smoke weed daily but im always high so i never really get any of the negative effects
