I think it was more a bravado like name from america, mind you .45 in the 30's fully auto that was damn destructive at the time.

The gun was originally designed to be used in trenches in WWI .45 acp full auto used close quarters in a time where even light body armor wasnt a thing would be pretty damn effective imo. The original name fits in regards to its original purpose.

The AN-94 would be a good candidate for that. It's in so many games yet nobody in Russia is actually using it.

I'm actually surprised he hasn't covered the MG42/MG34 yet as that weapon was featured in virtually every single WW2 game and is also significant historically.

It's funny, really. Caseless ammo sounds so futuristic, but in truth we'd been using it for centuries before the invention of cartridges.
