ashens spooked me
I'm quite partial to the horribleness that is crystal miku [t]http://popbot.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/FUN9275-Vocaloid-Hatsune-Miku-Crystal-Pop-Vinyl-Figure-EXCL.png[/t]
the best thing about the dory one is that I didn't know it existed until I found a box that contained not the figure, but a shirt featuring art of the figure [t]http://www.poppriceguide.com/guide/itmimg/7527_dory_1465801560.jpg[/t] the vector box art legitimately looks like an attempt at some horrific mimic pretending to be a cherished childhood memory

I hate them so much.
There are people who buy these things.
This is something I never imagined asking, but... Why is Pac-Man so square?
funko formula over form
funko formula over form
funktion over form
funko pops are garbage, nendoroids are where it's at if you want a chibi-styled figure
List? At work youtube is blocked
funko shit was originally a cheap collectable because they made everything from the same base parts and barely changed shit, eventually taht formed a "style" and when they started spending more on them they kept the fucking horrible aesthetic of "make it look like the amiibo that fell off the QA line and got sold on ebay"
a bit disingenuous to how funko got started up- funko was initially selling more normal figures of pop culture figures [t]http://68.media.tumblr.com/9b562606097fa8cf5efe6a5027714785/tumblr_inline_obvgdlqfmp1qg6gjx_540.png[/t] (not exactly an improvement) it was sold to a night club manager who was looking to flip the industry for a pretty penny. in 2010 they dipped into the vinyl collectible scene, as it was starting to make waves- it was a HUGE underground scene involving identical figure bases painted up by indies and guest artists. So many unique and rare stylized items doing tons of inventive things with a limited form factor, tons of people getting their big break in showcasing their art. The simple bases weren't a matter of "but it's muh artstyle", rather it was a blank slate to apply an artstyle to. Funko however missed the memo and spends their time applying funko to other people's art, aiming for licensed recognizable characters. [t]http://68.media.tumblr.com/85d892729239062f3425bf5d4e0ee86d/tumblr_inline_obvgl0rY9C1qg6gjx_540.png[/t] you can tell they didn't change much after that, because shit sold like hotcakes. Everybody wanted to collect their favorite already-existing properties, so comic stores would often opt to buy a load of funkos to resell as they were zero-risk investments compared to most other vinyls. This has by and large destroyed the art scene's ability to get anywhere, because after going mainstream, your average dipshit who discovers different vinyls, even normal figures (IE the overwatch nendoroids the other month) will say 2 things: "why the fuck are they trying to copy funko, what a ripoff", and "why spend more money on that when funkos are only like 15 bucks and are pretty big lol im poor" man if only I knew why something less than half the size of a funko costs twice as much! i know a guy who has a shelf full of them all staring at his bed and i don't know how he can sleep
you ask the people who have like 5+ of the damn things why and they're like "lol nendos cost a million dollars and i'm poor" fuck that shit you couldn't even pay me to own one
you ask the people who have like 5+ of the damn things why and they're like "lol nendos cost a million dollars and i'm poor" fuck that shit you couldn't even pay me to own one
Nendoroids also don't cover as many series as Funko, so for someone who wants something to put on a work desk or at home to show off can't get as many from Nendoroids. Also most people have no clue Nendoroids exist because they're a much smaller niche, while everyone knows Funko. It's unfortunate but it makes sense.
"Ellen Dejinarus"?
List? At work youtube is blocked
It's just the [sp]Dory (Finding Nemo) and Mrs. Potts (Beauty and The Beast)[/sp] Funko Pops
I'll admit, I have a Cyberdemon Funko Pop figure, and really half of the reason why I bought it is because there's not all that much DOOM merchandise out there (and yes, I know Ashens addresses this issue in the video). At least it doesn't look all that bad compared to a lot of the other Pop figures.
... man if only I knew why something less than half the size of a funko costs twice as much! ...
My local comic book store has about an entire shelf just for Funko figures, and at the very end they have Nendroids, it's amazing to see the difference in effort put into the two, even in just the accessories and posing ability it has, as well as general sculpting.
[t]https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/715ol%2BmPsKL._SL1403_.jpg[/t] poc-mon
i think the worst thing about this one is that it could've been passable had they just made him round funko has a mini blind collectable series of classic games and the pacman one looks way better [t]http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/iKeychain1492070907.jpeg[/t]
I still stand by that the Funko figures that wear helmets and you don't need to see those creepy soulless circle eyes aren't half bad. Which is why I got most of the First Order Storm Troopers on my desk.
That fucking teapot
you ask the people who have like 5+ of the damn things why and they're like "lol nendos cost a million dollars and i'm poor" fuck that shit you couldn't even pay me to own one
I'll never get that. I'd rather buy nothing than something cheap but shitty. Or one good thing instead of five shit things.
I have a huge collection of these, i've started buying them in 2012, yes i had shit taste and i regret it, atleast the Beatles pops are now super rare and valuable, i'm probably gonna sell them. Buying some quality revoltech and figmas made me change my mind regarding these things.
The only PV's that are even remotely decent are the ones that don't follow the massive head/soulless eyes trend. I've got the Big Daddy from Bioshock and I think it looks great.
That block of plastic, that's supposed to look like Dory, looks cheaper than a Happy Meal toy
The only vinyl figures I am interested in are these: I think they're adorable as fuck and would happily keep them near my PC.
