Very impressive, I can see this being used in some next-gen titles, maybe.
The eyes are still a slight deadzone but the mouth and nose are very well done. Facial expressions don't carry to the eyes yet.
It looks like the actor has to really push the expressions especially to capture more subtle actions like saying F.
One day we will have games filled with custom facial animations
And it will be glorious

They're making sure we're ready.
When reading the passage the mouth was exaggerating a bit too much, but still, damn impressive
Imagine this in an arma like game. Just making silly faces at people and then being blown to bits.
I wonder if it's a depth camera( notice the IR LEDs ). Any info on how it works? I didn't see an explanation anywhere.
holy shit this is beautiful
to add to the games part: some day, the expressions you make will be captured with your wii u gamepad/eyetoy/kinect and the polygons transmitted to others online.
so they can see how hard you rage while they teabag you.
It already exist for everquest 2 isnt it?
But that is much better
It's always the eyes that cause the Uncanny Valley effect. Eyes are the windows to the soul, they should take priority above all else in terms of getting them to move right.
Apart from that, though, this is really good.

The guy in the background doesn't sound native English, and the Facebook page says they're from Egypt. So chances are, that might just be the way he pronounces the letter F.
This is some crazy stuff, hopefully in time there can be a consumer version so we can make our own personas and act out accordingly in real time. Would be cool.

Don't hate on the Glitch Mob, I saw them live and they own. It made me more pumped up for the awesome face tracking. Bad Wings is one of my favorite night time drive songs.

Except one still has to be done by hand (Yes, there's the auto lipsync, but you still have to refine that, assuming you get anywhere near a good result) and the other is real-time facial motion capture.
