I'm honestly becoming more and more excited about this game. At first I didn't have much faith, but they're really listening to fan criticism and advice.

Oh look another impressions video with no footage. Words words... they mean nothing
elder scrolls sounds like with it's gameplay it's going to be like guild wars 2
and gw2 wasn't that good
so I hope they make the right call, by putting actual end game content in, not just shit pvp
What on earth ya talking about? Guild Wars 2 is great. So far i see no reason to wait for this instead of simply getting GW2 right now.

no
no it's not
do I really need to bring forth compelling arguments as to why gw2 is a horrible, horrible MMO?

It's a great MMO because it ain't like most MMOs. It's actually FUN to play, not just a grind.

yet it's a horrible MMO for not being like them
it has no replayability
the 'event' thing is pure bullshit, I know what I'm talking about, I level 2 80's. A guardian and a ranger.
the pvp is unbalanced, at least where I left off and I imagine it still is from the sounds of it.
there is literally no reason for Elder Scrolls to make a carbon copy of GW2 after it failed so hard
seriously, the amount of people playing GW2 now compared to around release time is laughable
the content is sorely low, no raids, just a grind to get your gear set then you're done
end content
Not sure what you expected from GW2. WoW 2.0? It was always clear that GW2 would be more like a singleplayer RPG (Elder Scrolls style), than a hardcore MMO.
Don't know how long it has been since you played last, but servers are still in overflow at peak hours. Wouldn't call it laughable at all.

Yeah this marketing strategy is pretty frustrating. I wonder when us plebeians will be able to see some actual gameplay and not have to rely on the words of annoying Youtube personalities who have more subscribers than me.

Literally every MMO player has said this about their MMO as opposed to other MMO's, and like all of those previous claims it's completely wrong. Guild Wars 2 has an extraordinary amount of grinding.

I dunno if I'd say horrible, it doesn't do much worse than WoW, but I will agree that most of it's weak points are because they tried to pull too much away from established designs that just work.
Quests were replaced with hearts, which are just as grindy. Events are neat but are horribly underused in lower levels while being almost annoyingly present at endgame.
They established dungeons as an endgame pursuit without a group finder. I don't even know how games are still doing this in 2012. If you are making a themepark dungeon grinding game there is literally no reason not to have a group finder.
Breaking the holy trinity was supposed to make everyone build unique compositions that wasn't the typical "tank, healer, DPS" but in reality it results in 5 players in roughly the same combination of damage, heailng, and survivability. Dungeons are a mess, the aggro system makes no sense, and bewilderingly the game encourages players to build survivability or healing when neither are particularly necessary and in fact could slow your group down.
Can't comment on PVP since I've barely done it, but neither structured nor world PVP seems particularly new or interesting compared to anything I've done in prior MMO's released in the last few years.
Like I said, not a horrible game, quite enjoyable in fact and easily the best competition WoW has seen yet. Combat animations are fluid and when events work they are generally enjoyable to do with friends. Dungeons aren't amazing, but some of the boss fights are, and I love the fractals system. It's just a shame that they strove so hard to make themselves seem like not-WoW that they forgot to make other parts of the game better on their own instead of simply being different.

I was told I have the maximum possible chance to get into the TESO beta that begins sometime near the end of this month, pretty interested to see how this is.

Most MMOs do have a (relatively) low amount of content on launch, don't forget that WoW is ~12 years old, it's ridiculous to criticize it for not having a similar level of content a short time after launch. I can't say much about the rest of the game as I haven't played it, but you should also consider the game has no subscription fee after the initial purchase.

It launched with a fair bit of content but I think that 6 months after launch they should have released a bit more in the way of dungeons or raids or something. The holiday events are neat but entirely throwaway after you miss them, and their strategy of releasing timed content that you need to be online at a certain time to see means developer resources like programming and art are going to waste with no one seeing them. Not to mention even SWTOR had two major content patches within 6 months of it's release.
