people don't give a shit because a large majority of people either turn a blind eye or downright hate gays, like that first guy in the video. He changed what he said because he learned he was on camera. they're all insecure idiots.

It doesn't help the fact that in NY/NJ there are so many people, and everybody's got their own issues that nobody really cares about anyone else. Best way to put it, is it's similar to the bystander effect.
On the OP's video, the second guy who wrote that message actually made me start crying, there need to be more people like him in the world.
I've noticed that in a lot of these videos the dispute is between an employee and a patron. I think this could make a big difference because someone like a waiter/waitress getting involved in anybody's personal affairs in completely inappropriate under any circumstance. I wonder what would happen if this occurred between 2 customers instead?
