I don't know the full story but what the hell is wrong with the police?
I only see they wacking people up, shooting the cameras and humiliating people.

is that before or after the police cracked down on the protesters though.

thats after the protesters were attacked and beaten
The molotovs only started after the first crack down, when the police tried dislodging the protesters from their barricades.

The police are being absurdly brutal at times and cracking down on something that doesn't deserve a crackdown in the first place, but that doesn't mean that anyone on this earth deserves to be set on fire.

Honestly, those police are being tactically retarded. Standing right behind an iron bar fence that's going to break any molotov that hits it and shower anyone standing behind it with flames. They need to be standing a good 15 feet back from it so Molotovs that do hit them hit the ground at their feet.
It's a fucking iron fence, anyway. You don't need to stand on it, it's a great wall on its own

I'd rather be set on fire while wearing a flame retardant protective suit with firefighters standing behind me than beaten half to death by the people who I pay to protect me while wearing nothing but a jacket.

i'd rather just not be involved.

I'm sure that guy is glad his face is protected from that flaming gasoline sticking to it!
I'd take the broken arm, thank you very much.

I think you're severely underestimating the damage and pain caused by being beaten with nightsticks and kicked by dozens of people repeatedly.
Doesn't really matter whose worse off, it's still bad either way. I think the video in OP is overly dramatic, but it's no less true. The police are allowed free reign and can do whatever they want, with no repercussions other than, that which is brought onto them by the people protesting.

Ever been burnt with oil? I have. It sucks pretty big time. I've also been beaten by several people at once, though not with nightsticks. It sucks too. Not as much as being doused with burning oil did, though.

A strong enough blow to the head and you're done. I'm not sure why you are downplaying being beaten.

I'm not sure why you guys are downplaying being set on fire.
Both are god awful things to happen.

because you know for a fact that that riotcop beat the shit out of someone with a nightstick
stop acting like either side is a hive mind
People trying to demonize the police
people trying to demonize the protesters
No body really getting that it's really a matter of the lesser of the two evils. Yes it's bad for the protesters to set the police on fire, but if a man needs to be burnt for a few seconds to get the point across that they are willing to fight for their rights so be it.

Both are terrible but one isn't better than the other. Face melting isn't worse than permanent brain damage vice versa
What sucks is that the majority of the police are ordered to "go all out" and "beat the shit out of them" while some go way too far and start humiliating the protesters etc. The police is doing what they're paid to do and I'm sure a lot of them don't even want to be there. But, they have families to get home to as well and need to put food on the table.
