That's a pretty nice app. I just hope no assholes use it to mess with blind people.
That's a pretty nice app. I just hope no assholes use it to mess with blind people.
100% guarantee
yeah i hope there's some kind of sign up and verification thing to avoid that [editline] . [/editline] what if a blind person accidentally hits "i am sighted" and gets paired with another blind person, that would be pretty confusing
"Let's see, there's a nude man bent over, stretching his anus to the approximate width of his fist with both hands, the inside of which is visible. His genitals dangle between his legs. His hands are calloused and knobby, and he is wearing a golden ring on the fourth finger of his left hand. This image is tiled twenty times across the page."
If you're blind how are you supposed to press the "I am blind" button
If you're blind how are you supposed to press the "I am blind" button
the app has a text to voice function, you press around on the screen until you hair the voice say I am blind or whatever, then you press that spot again I assume.
If you're blind how are you supposed to press the "I am blind" button
iPhones actually have a mode on it for blind people, they hold their finger on a part of the screen and the phone verbally says what the person is pressing
the iPhone 3GS was the first touch-screen device that blind people like me could take out of the box and use right away. It comes with speech software called VoiceOver — built-in screen access for people who are blind. Miraculously, it allows blind people to interact using the touch-screen.
https://bethfinke.wordpress.com/2013/01/07/how-do-blind-people-use-iphones/
"Latency killed a blind man crossing the street with the 'Be my eyes' App, as he thought he was walking during a green light, but had turned red."
I see this becoming the app for hitting on blind chicks. "Sure, glad to help, by the way, I like your voice. What accent is that? Where do you live? ..."
this could actually work perfectly if you could add someone you could confirm would not be a dick like a family member
That's a pretty nice app. I just hope no assholes use it to mess with blind people.
I was thinking that when they guy asks if the milk is spoiled.
Just tried to download it and help but it's consistently crashing, :(
I was thinking that when they guy asks if the milk is spoiled.
"Could you tell me how old this milk is?" "Oh, Uh yeah it says it expires in two weeks. It should be fine." "Oh thank you so much."
Blind people using Android or Windows mobile are still fucked apparently.
sounds like a fun way to chat with random blind people, cool.
It's a real cool idea, I just hope it doesn't get used to mess with blind people. But, there's no really doubting it, as it'll eventually happen. Hope there is a way to report people that abuse the app.

next up, the "bee my eyes" app, with the function to lead the visually impaired to apiaries and beehive locations near them - includes a nicolas cage voiceover for only $0,99
Ahh fuck, I'm using a windows phone. Shame, this seems great.
