I don't care if it's women's shampoo if I want my hair to smell like lavender and vanilla I fucking will I'm a man you don't tell me what I can and can't do.
started out very annoying but then became a very nice commentary (but simplification) of men and femininity
quit at the 2:00 mark though, she's just too energetic for my sleep-deprived brain

actually just do yourself and google "gendered products" because everything there is fucking hilarious

women's shampoo is way better if you have thicker or longer hair, too.
also i don't want to smell like motor oil, sweat, or axe all the time so i prefer the nice smelling fruit smells. so good.
i stare at her boobs and then look at her face and go oh god she's like 13
then i stare at her boobs again

I use a mixture of anti-dandruff shampoos and my girlfriend's cocoa butter shampoo when washing my hair and beard.
I prefer Old Spice to Axe cause Axe smells like straight up shit.
Also I occasionally use women's hair products on my beard.

i use speedstick on my gross smelly armpits and super high quality salon shampoo and conditioner because my mom gets bottles of that shit for free because she's a hair stylist. my hair is usually silky smooth and always smells great despite it being super thick and awful to take care of when it gets long.
lots of guys at my school spray MANLY AXE all over their bodies instead of showering and use AXE SHAMPOO in their hair, and the smell is so pungent that i want to puke. like, who invented these "MAN" smells? they smell fucking terrible.

seriously that shit smells amazing. Mens shampoo stuff smells like car oil and pain.
I don't really see the problem with some gender-specific marketing techniques. Like the example with the earplugs, I'm sure there's no difference between the products other than the colour and the packaging. It all comes down to the differences in the ways men and women perceive value in a product. One of the fundamental principles of marketing is to clearly define who you are selling this product to. If you're trying to sell the same product to both genders equally (like earplugs), it's probably more effective to use two different approaches (one to target women, and one to target men) than to try to appeal to both equally.
Those ear ammo plugs look really uncomfortable.
I've used earplugs like that when I had to do an MRI
You squeeze them a certain way and then they fit right in and expand.

The point is literally "why"
Just
Earplugs
Here, buy these earplugs
Why is there even a need to market gender wise. I'm even wondering why at all. Not even "Oh, it should be equal!" but rather... What made them think "we need to sell these by gender?" I can't imagine.
I just use they grey soap and shampoo that way I don't smell like shit vanill

I disagree. It's damaging and stupid to insinuate this kind of bullshit in the 21st century. There's absolutely nothing inherently "manly" or "feminine" about the color pink, dresses, bullets, GIANT BOLD METAL TEXT, the smell of gasoline, etc. Like, look at Lego for example.
Compare the lego sets targeted towards little girls...

... to the ones targeted towards boys.
[t]http://www.bricksandbloks.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/LEGO-76001-Super-Heroes-Tumbler-Chase-Set-Box-The-Dark-Knight.jpg[/t]
What's the point? The "girly" lego kits have bleh color palettes, less pieces, and less variety. Do they make planes, ships, city sets, cars, tanks, ninja battles, cool licensed shit, and all that bullshit that's targeted towards girls? No, they don't, because the dumb fucking suits at Lego think that they'll make fat stacks by making kits based off of completely archaic gender roles. Last time I checked kids who like Lego like to BUILD SHIT, not play around with like 1 solid pink premade megablocks-tier block. (It's fucking dumb and shouldn't exist. There's literally no justification for any of this shit.
The only time gender/sex-targeted marketing could be remotely justified is if it's something specific to someone's sex, like condoms for male genitals, tampons, bras, or something else like that.

Welcome to the world of marketing. The more you can narrow, objectify and cater to your target market, the more success you'll likely have. It's a sad reality of the business world.

I think it's the principle of it
Imagine if we had half of all toys blatantly marketed towards black kids and half towards white kids
I think people would be upset about it, especially if the black kids toys were simpler and generally inferior as girls' toys seem to be

Principle is second to practicality and if it's not good business then they don't give a fuck. Lego's obviously experimented with advertising towards girls and my guess is that even compared to other simple Lego sets, girls weren't as interested. The simple solution though is a range that's relatively gender-neutral, Nintendo holds a good part of the female video game market because of it.
Simpler and inferior toys though, that's a matter of what you look at. Barbie gets all this cool shit, changeable clothes, huge houses, sports cars, girls even get lifelike baby dolls. Boys get an action man with three moving joints, an orange transparent chainsaw, and a tiny plastic castle with a skeleton somewhere. It's not a matter of boys or girls toys being better, they just put effort elsewhere.

I dunno man, I don't personally like the axe smell either but whenever I put it on I get noticeably more "you smell really nice" comments from my girlfriend as opposed to when I use Old Spice or whatever else.
One of my exes even straight up told me that Axe was her favorite deodorant to smell and she had a ranking of her favorites. She strongly encouraged me to buy certain ones.
I guess some girls actually really like it. Not like I really notice it on myself during the day anyway, so it doesn't matter to me. I fucking hate it when I'm spraying it on though.

See it's funny, because they've tried to make girl-oriented themes profitable for about fifteen years and this is the first time it has been.
