Trying to figure out how often Major Nelson rehearses his introduction before each video...
Looks pretty rad. Glad they changed up that horrendous 360 d-pad.
The new rumble system sounds cool, hopefully devs will actually utilize that shit.
Millions spent on fixing the D-pad
So wait? Does this thing still use batteries?

No it has an internal nuclear reactor.

Pretty sure it's just like the PS3 controller, with the lithium-whatever battery that charges via mini USB.

Nah, it's wireless, except it doesn't work when it's wireless.
Powered by buyer's remorse or something I don't know.
It doesn't look bad overall, but those handles look extremely uncomfortable.
It kinda looks cheaper in build quality, but that could be because of the camera.

100 million to be specific.
So its a upgraded 360 controller with 4 vibration motors, battery build in and has a more solid feeling?
Well i am perfectly okay with it.
And seeing that the Kinect is no longer required to be connected at all times is actually bringing the Xbox One much closer into getting into my home.
But so far PS4 still has a stronger lineup and of course the console is a tat more powerfuller.
the trigger rumble sounds like a really good idea
hopefully next gen devs will take full advantage of it
a lot of people complained about it looking uncomfortable but honestly the original xbox 360 controller looks uncomfortable as well (which isn't true), wouldn't judge it until we actually use it
looks like they put a lot of time into it though
ohhhh man im planning on getting a One but if I don't get around to doing that I'll still definitely get one of these babies
my fighting games will feel so much better with a nice d-pad
The only good thing about 360 controllers were the joysticks, hopefully this is better.

:V: Nope. They made this to ensure minimum lag for those "pro" gamers(but they can't tell you how fast it is now!).
So the battery powered controller can be plugged into the xbox 360, but if you want to charge that shit, you'll still have to buy a charging kit. It's obvious they had to fix that "huge" latency rather than get rid of swapping batteries.
While I dislike the direction the 360 has went the past few years, their controllers are damn near perfect with the exception of the Dpad, and while I'm not liking the Xbone, the controller looks really, really nice.
Whenever they get this thing compatible with PCs, I might get one
I can vouch that the new controller feels just as good in the hands as the 360 one. Had time with it at SDCC and was very impressed, even though I was skeptical at first.
Man I hope those micro-usb ports are strong, I feel like it'd only take one accident with someone stepping on a cable while you're using it / it being tugged or bent to fuck that up.

The ergonomics are phenomenal, easily the best feature of the 360 controller.
Man I probably won't get an Xbox One this generation, but I am sssooooo going to miss the Xbox pad.
I loved it so much. Hope I can get a knock off for the PS4. I can't stand the dual shock controllers.

Hell I can safely admit the controller is one of the driving reasons why the Xbox One is even on my radar :v:

It doesn't look nearly as strong as the charger plugin on the current 360 controllers which has a plastic case around where it plugs into the controller, it seems like it's going to be more along the lines of how the PS3 controller gets plugged in from a wireless controller but i haven't had any problems with those becoming bent or anything and i've dropped it off my bed a couple times and had it land directly where it's plugged in. Unless you stomp on it in an odd way i don't think it's going to be that bad

The grip on the side of the joysticks and the more apparent concavity seems like the joysticks are going to be even better than they were, the problems i had with the 360 ones is they would wear out and not be concave anymore
Honestly, it's just a controller. I'm not just saying that because "OH THE PS3's CONTROLLER IS THE BEST" or anything bias etc.; they're both god damn button interfaces nothing more, nothing less. People need to stop whining about how uncomfortable they get just because something is positioned 0.001 mm away from their liking.
Pointless "enhancements" in my opinion, the guy could just be spewing on about how they had "hundreds" of testers approve of this design when in fact they could just be saying that so we'll accept this pseudo-futuristic design. The only somewhat passable innovation designs are the impulse triggers, but how long are they going to keep riding on that small detail.
I like using the X-Box 360 controllers with my computer so this is something that I'm interested in. If the price isn't much I might get a couple.

i.. what? yeah, it's a controller. y'know, the thing you spend hours on end holding and using to input commands into your games - the thing that you NEED in order to play your games. "it's JUST a controller" is such a moronic statement, a controller is arguably the most important part of a console because without it you can't do anything. i want my controller to feel comfortable in my hands, be it if i'm playing for 30 minutes or playing for 6 hours. a reduced deadzone is going to enhance the experience for FPS games, rumbles in the triggers will be more immersive for many games, an integrated battery pack will give you more room for your fingers on the back of the controller instead of having them uncomfortably sat in between the pack and the controller or just floating in space, an improved and more responsive D-Pad, etc. etc. all of these things are things you're going to be hitting constantly and holding for hours on end, how the hell can you say it's "just" a controller

Both of my PS3 controllers are still fine, even after numerous drops and standing-ons. Those things are durable as fuck.
Wow well I don't think I've ever seen a company spend so much time explaining a controller. Controllers for consoles have never really gotten much attention before release.
Looks like they did this video to try and fix the xbox one's already terrible reputation. I also just feel like the person from Xbox was just trying to cram into our ears how many excruciating hours they've spent testing to make sure it's been designed perfectly for their "core" gamers.
Which is all great and well but what I really want to see is that controller last longer than the 360's. I know what he said about playing it for a long time and the controller becoming uncomfortable after a couple hours of constant use but what I hope to see is that the condition of the controller to not wear down as quick as the 360's in the long run. With mine I had the A button press the start button and bring up the menu, things like that is something I can see becoming more common in the long run of the Xbox One.

LB is usually the button that breaks on me, but I had this happen as well

I like how they discuss the "It can be both wired and wireless at the same time!" even though the Dualshock 3 is already exactly like this.
Otherwise, it looks like a really good controller. I'll probably pick one up eventually.
Im not interested in a new console, but if the xbone controller is a clear upgrade to the 360, I will consider buying one for PC
