like, the way you'd think of NZ is like, wow this untouched paradise land and full of hobbits and shit. but in reality, we have some HUGE poverty problems along with a recidivist prison system that is also very similar to americas

my uncle has lived in nz for like 30 years now and he told me once that there's a massive drink driving problem cos the driving age is pretty young, the suburbs don't have much in the way of public transport, and basically if you're not into rugby there's fuck all to do so kids just get drunk a lot and drive he told me this like 10 years ago though so maybe he's referencing kinda 90s-era nz, pre-popularisation of the internet and video games n stuff but still it's interesting

no that's pretty much right. though even if you like rugby you're still going to be drinking a lot. new zealand has one of the worst drinking cultures in the world, it's ridiculous.

What kind of prick thinks it's okay to give an 8 year old alcohol. That guy without the shoes should get in real shit for getting him that drunk. Also I doubt the mother knew nothing, if anything the mother should of known exactly who her child was hanging around, and if she didn't then she should take the majority of the blame.
