I loved this series as a kid. The samurai jack style worked so well.
And my fav episode:

As a kid, I didn't dig the art style, the faces threw me off. Now tho, the art style is pretty rad
How to earn a shitload of money in two easy steps.
step 1) make more of this, none of that 3d shit
step 2) profit
Was interesting that it ends at the start of episode 3 and watching it beforehand makes the start of 3 a bit more, palatable. It really should be on those lists of "what order do you show your kids star wars"
I loved Grievous in this series, too bad he didn't live up to the hype in the movie and CGI series.

The CGI one has it's flaws, but it is not shit.
there was a deleted scene for episode 3 that ends a character from this cartoon (first thing in this montage)

wow, so much character development just left on the cutting room floor. I like that scene where Anakin and Obi-wan are communicating with gestures
I watched the 2003 series non stop since it's premiere. I was ticked at first that it was 3 minutes per episode, but I learned to love the length and made each wait intense. I have both season 1 and 2 on DVD.

The cgi series was a bit slow, but come season 2 I think with Cad Bane and suddenly the show found it's steam. I watched it all the way to season 6, and it was a dollar coaster ride of twists and turns.
Still pissed that this all got marked as non-canon not that long after the movie's release, for.. some reason.

I think it was when they started making the CG Clone Wars, even though there really isn't anything that happens that makes the two shows conflict with one another.
Something that this cartoon did infinitely better than the CGI version was General Grievous. Grievous was always that character that had so much potential but was knocked and juggled around like a smash bros fighter.
Also, despite the fact that Grievous does all sorts of things that aren't really within his skill repertoire, one excuse I could use would be the fact that Grievous was a feared Jedi Killer (Something we don't see him do at all in the CGI series or movies), so all of his amazing abilities could be said to be "Jedi Tall Tales", exaggerations from those who fought him. But then that means you can pretty much use that excuse anywhere.
Also say what you want but Shadows Of The Empire will always be cannon to my heart. It was the closest thing we had to a Star Wars film without actually having a film, and it doesn't help that so many things that were in the series made it into the games (The Swoop Gang, ASP droids and Dash Rendar's ship showing up in the CGI Re-release, as well as the fact that the Imperial landing craft made its first appearance in Shadows). Shadows even told the story of the "Many Bothans that died" to bring the plans for the Death Star.
The introduction to Grievous and his subsequent scenes from this series made him one of my favourite Star War villains. The subsequent basterdization and rape of his character in Revenge of the Sith and the dog shit CGI movie is what REALLY made me give up on Star Wars. He goes from fucking wiping out a batallion of Jedi to getting fended off by Ahsoka :|
even as a kid the ARC Troopers were fucking sick. i had a toy of the gunship from the Greivous episode and it came with a bunch of ARC troopers you could position on the guns. it was the best

The bit of General Grevious' ship makes me even more frustrated about what the prequels could've been. There's so many weird and pointless scenes kept in and yet that part was deleted. It's pretty fun and charming, adds a little extra for more involved fans, establishes the villain as a threat early on in the movie, and establishes a literally unspoken relationship between the two leads with what is sort of comedy. Sure it's not exactly high art, and for what it is it could be done a lot better, but that's what editing is for, right?
This scene was also pretty badass

Jedi wearing armor under their robes and cloaks will never stop being the coolest thing about the Jedi in the entirety of the Star Wars universe. I was so ready to see Obi-Wan wearing the clone armor again in Episode 3 and I hoped that Anakin would have worn something very similar to his Darth Vader gear. But alas Georgie boy let me down once more.
Quick note.
For the first 2 series of the CG series the 03 series was treated as canon and TCW was the continuation. That's why they never explained how Anakin go his scar and why they never showed Asajj Ventress' introduction.

Heh, around 3:50 seconds in Obi-Wan does the Akira bike pose.

You kidding? Anakin and Obi-Wan watched one of their friends get murdered, and instead of reacting like normal people they went straight into some Hot Fuzz buddy cop routine. Also that unfinished CGI of them in the tunnel looks like a scene from Hotel Mario.

This cartoon was basically how I got into Star Wars, meaning the rest of the entire franchise is a massive disappointment to me for being nowhere near as cool

The CGI version was the shit in its later seasons, when it started exploring darker themes
