He forgot to mention how they straight up just didn't implement some scopes and disabled them instead :v:
It is still crazy to me that they charge $60 for it - even if you own the game.
It is still crazy to me that they charge $60 for it - even if you own the game.
Somebody went on a huge rant about fuck Bethesda for somehow managing to rerelease a game 5+ times and not fix a single fucking thing and that really struck a chord with me.
It is still crazy to me that they charge $60 for it - even if you own the game.
for something they outsourced to a studio that either didn't give a fuck or couldn't give a fuck because of time constraints/being on a poorly made game
Somebody went on a huge rant about fuck Bethesda for somehow managing to rerelease a game 5+ times and not fix a single fucking thing and that really struck a chord with me.
That was probably Jim Sterling. I agree too, they keep rereleasing the games and they still have the same bugs they had on launch and they still cost $60
gotta say, having to do the whole intro/tutorial again was a massive pain in the ass and I don't know why the fuck bethesda insists on forcing you to play the same exact ~20 minute segment every time you start a new game. What's interesting is how much more of a pain in the ass it is in VR because 90% of the time is just spent standing in the middle of your room doing basically nothing but watching the same shit you've seen 50 times but this time it's strapped to your face. Also, z-fighting artifacts are a god damn epilepsy hazard in VR because they tend to spaz out differently in each eye and it fucking hurts to look at. I got Fallout 4 VR free with my vive, otherwise I wouldn't have likely bothered. I was looking forward to DOOM VFR but the user reviews seem to indicate it's a total garbage fire. I really hope that this kind of shit is mainly just due to it being a new platform, but Fallout 4 VR felt like Bethesda just wanted to cash in on the VR hype.
It is still crazy to me that they charge $60 for it - even if you own the game.
60? Try fuckin $80 for us Canadians.
Oh, look at that.
10 bucks says that would have required effort and Bethesda doesn't like effort.
I'm right. And trust me, i don't want to be. We're talking about a company that could invest the time, but just doesn't for some reason.
Bizarre how Overkill, using an engine probably actually worse than the creation engine, with probably way fewer employees and resources, managed to make a vr game on par with, maybe better than, F4VR.
Oh, look at that. I'm right. And trust me, i don't want to be.
The original context of that post wasn't that applicable, cross quoting aswell for this thread, who doesn't like effort now.
I'm not asking $60 for a finished product with less content, more glitches, and could have been $10 DLC at worst. I'm a guy who spent 30 seconds at most making a post on a forum. And i clarified in this post, which people seemed to agree with once i explained myself. Fallout 4 VR is a lazy product. And considering that Skyrim is getting ports that still have the exact same bugs it's had for years, Bethesda has been lazy for a while. Unless, of course, they're working on something big and don't have the resources.
That's fair enough, I think I missed that post aswell, my bad.
That's fair enough, I think I missed that post aswell, my bad.
I can understand why someone would rate me dumb since it was a bit of a confusing post.
gotta say, having to do the whole intro/tutorial again was a massive pain in the ass and I don't know why the fuck bethesda insists on forcing you to play the same exact ~20 minute segment every time you start a new game.
Tbh I've pretty much concluded that the only good way to play any bethesda game is with a quick start mod, your first run just instantly skipping the intro and diving into it. Don't even think about the main quest-line or intro, it's always shit. The pride went into everything else. Morrowind had the best intro. You're dropped off a random boat, bam, have fun mate. Everything else, except maybe Oblivion, if you aren't doing it fresh it with a quick start mod you're getting a worse experience. And on top of that, I think waiting for the 'complete' version with all the DLC too to be on sale before getting it is just a good idea. [editline]17th January 2018[/editline] Every time I finish the main quest in a bethesda game the rest of the game just feels dull to me its like, even if I have tons of other things to do, it kinda puts me off. its just 'oh, well, what next'
Another problem is how they dumbed down everything. In Morrowind you had to figure things yourself and read it from text and actually look at the world map, you had no compass to gps you everywhere, it's also not as simple as disabling it, it does nothing when the game isn't designed for not having it.
60? Try fuckin $80 for us Canadians.
i mean to be fair 60 USD is about 75 canadia dollas
Fallout 4 VR is a lazy product.
This so much. For the uninitiated, Fallout 4 VR isn't exactly a marvel for the engine, it's an .esm file for the base game. In other words, it's literally just the base game with a 100MB expansion pack. For full price. AGAIN.
Think I asked in the fallout thread but if it's compatible with the regular game you're paying 60 dollars for a file.
I believe people have ported it to the actual game with little effort given it's just a compatible file so, yeah, it's pretty much an expansion pack being sold at an extortionate price.
Think I asked in the fallout thread but if it's compatible with the regular game you're paying 60 dollars for a file.
Yes, it's fully compatible with the base game.

It was the least buggy on release (not saying much but its still true) and it had all the right combinations of dumbed down for the retard audience and not dumbed down at all for the diehard fans. Oblivion was a great with the "Go east of Bruma, you'll know it when you see it" mentality for finding stuff. Now Fallout 4 and Skyrim is basically fischer price's my first RPG in that sense.

No "maybe better" about it.

[editline]edit[/editline] Even more so with mods.
Assuming you're talking about Payday 2 VR, that shit is the bomb. No "maybe better" about it.
Yeah I'm talking about PD2VR. More meant technically, like how you can use reflex sights in PD2VR, scopes are disabled in F4VR, don't know about reflex sights.
I still think Oblivion looks quite pretty at times tbh, despite it's potato faces and stuff. [editline]edit[/editline] Even more so with mods.
The faces were definitely ugly and the bloom could go crazy, but yeah, with a few mods to dial that stuff in, it still looks pretty damn good.
Assuming you're talking about Payday 2 VR, that shit is the bomb. No "maybe better" about it.
And it's also free.
