for those who don't know, american churches tend to run stuff like this near halloween called "hell houses"
it basically is a live theater show with really bad actors and teaches a simple moral based around sins (don't drink and drive and other various things) while mushing it together with stuff Christians are taught in a attempt to "scare" people into getting into Christianity.
it's literally the worst theater ever made period.
this church in Alabama recently made this hell house just for youtube

Praise lord baby cowboy jesus amen.
Holy shit that is so dumb. It jarred a memory I had of when I was like 10, they did something similar to this at the church I went to when my parents were still really religious. Scared the shit out of me (because I was still a kid) and was the ONLY reason I wanted to get baptized. These fucking fear-mongering mock plays are an abomination.
I remember hearing about these while growing up in a southern Christian family, my older siblings would go to them as an alternative to haunted houses around Halloween. As far as I can tell they're pretty much the epitome of church scare tactics.
That being said, the first thing that crossed my mind after watching this is that I have the urge to sample the audio from the 60 seconds to include in some sort of horrible soundscape for ambient music or a game.

only the worst churches do it.
and it's usually the ones in it for the money. i only seen big churches do it where i live.
They're pretty fucked up all around; scaring children as little as 6 into christian 'morals'.
I don't know why the OP is funny, it's some seriously fucked up shit they're trying to preach, it's bad acting and all: but the concepts and ideas they're trying to push are brutal.
The video in the left annotation link is probably the most disturbing thing you could show children. They are also innocently naive in deciphering logic from the lies.
The child's devotion isn't in God, it's the trust in others which they devote themselves, betrayed. So much fear and victim blaming.

Sure you are.

I don't remember God of the Bible saying anything about drunk driving.
...So the moral of the story is that McDonalds is the way to salvation? :v:
My god that was boring

"Jesus take the wheel"
1 Corinthians
They do this every year at a church near me as well. I went once like 6 or some odd years ago, and it really is fear-mongering. They scare you and show you people being dragged to hell and separated from their families and all this other nonsense to make you terrified enough to go up at the end and 'willingly' ask to be saved.
It's barbaric.
Fear is not the way to teach people anything. They'll only resent it and hate it more.
I really wish more so-called "Christians" would take a page out of Pope Francis's book and learn to just chill out. Seriously, it's "love thy neighbor", not "use terror tactics your neighbor into thinking the same way you think".

Honestly these types of Christians are just as bad as Radical Islamists. They are literally in the same boat.
I've met real Christ-ians before. I was working downtown on the streets, raising funds to help abused, abandoned, injured, etc. animals. Stuff to keep all animals, domestic or wild, in good health and safety.
This black man dressed in an all white suit and sunglasses and gold teeth came to me, and asked what I was doing. I told him what I was raising money for, and he gave me $100, saying it was for the animals. I thanked him, and he said no, the animals and Jesus thank you. When I checked what he wrote down as his name next to his donation amount, it said "Jesus Christ".
I've also met a Christ-ian lady who whenever she would buy something to eat somewhere, she'd get a large size, and then would split it in half with any random person that was hungry and around at the time. She just called out to me and asked if I was hungry. We had an awesome talk together. When I asked her for her name, she said she was a child of God.
I was hoping this would be a house designed to look like Hell. That would be awesome and terrifying, and would do far more to convey a message than this did.

Honestly, most Christians are good people, and Christianity has motivated people to do far more good than bad in the name of God. We like to single out things like The Crusades to try and prove some point, but that point is shitty and just not true. The Church has done many good things, and many good things have been done by the people in it.
Radical scare tactics are fucking sad. But there's always an extremist side to any belief/religion.
I went to some bible camps as a kid and one included a "finale" fear-tactic that actually deterred me away from religion in general. I'm not going to bash anyone's beliefs, but pulling shit like that to invoke spirituality in a person does more damage than good.

I've been to one of these before. From what I remember it wasn't nearly as terrible and shitty as this. The one I went to was actually really fucking cool, with pretty decent sound and set design. It was kinda funny too because some guy was in the crowd with us watching, and nobody knew who he was, and suddenly he yelled out during one act and walked on the set and it turns out he was satan. what a twist
My friend asked me if I wanted to do something and I said "sure" and then I found myself watching dramatized church theatrics about sins and obeying God. It was still pretty cool but I felt really awkward being there because I knew nobody at his church at all.
I saw a documentary on one of these a few years ago on Netflix, I remember it being really good.

Huh, turns out it's on youtube too, if my memory serves me well then I can fully recommend it as an interesting little documentary:

Yeah it's church scare tactics, but damn, some of them are pretty gruesome, [sp]the classroom one made me squirm at the thought of it.[/sp]
I get so much second hand embarrassment from watching these
When I go to heaven I'm also gonna ask god.
"Is my name in that book?"
And then he'll be like.
"Yes, John Smith. It appears your name is here"
Freeload my ass into heaven.
this isn't faith
heaven comes from belief in God and Jesus out of love for what they have done.
not fear for what they could do
i live smack dab in the middle of fucking georgia and ive never heard southern accents this jarring and horrible
