Hi.
Anyone remember nippermaps? They're insane custom maps made by a guy named....nipper. You might have seen all that talk about func_vehicle and ridiculous maps like "blahhhh". The maps have a lot of hilarious looking vehicles, bizarre as hell textures, and that sort of thing.

Anyway. I created a couple videos that are recent in CS1.6. If you have played these maps, you might get a laugh at some of the footage. Enjoy. If you haven't, you're probably going to think what the hell:

I remember playing this on the server you put it, then it died in obscurity because nobody actually got together for a game
this looks like absolute goldsrc bliss. i may pop in.
I'm joining the server right now
Holy shit I literally just suggested that Vinesauce play these yesterday.
I love these maps so much you have no idea.
Oh my god, all the nostalgia.
Big City II was my JAM
That fucking Uncle Nikolai guy.

This is the stuff I miss. What happened to all the glass and break maps on CS:S, and why are all the surf servers on CS:GO so *competitive* (rather than have jails, it's just the constant teleport back to the beginning and try to beat your old time!). It really doesn't help that the latest Valve games since Left 4 Dead have been trying to hide the community server browser deeper in the menus.
Seriously, this is the stuff I grew up on. What happened to it all? Does nobody enjoy custom maps for the sole purpose having clean, non-competitive fun? I can't see why nobody would, even today.
If anybody knows some safe havens for those good old experiences, please let me know. I really miss those.
Just finished a few rounds on the server and holy shit is it glorious
It's a shame this has been so empty lately.
Indeed, we need to populate it. I'm joining now.
I'll be on tonight. A couple posts on group pages and it gets close to full
How about some "The Specialists"
Finally, I can use my nippermaps that I downloaded ages ago. This is great, keep this server up forever.

This, so this...
I used to have one of the very first breakfloor servers for css, and it was absolutely amazing. Now there's like 3 breakfloor servers, that never have people in them.
If you want to play surf and minigames, you could check out http://www.hoecommunity.com/
They're not perfect, but they're probably one of the few decent servers that remain on css...

It will absolutely be up much longer than when i ran one in 2012

NIPPER did remake some of his maps to CS:S but his server and maps never took off so I think he just retired from the scene, I miss vehicles like on supercrazymegacar, I think was the map name, where there was a car that towered the max height of the map and driving that around or flipping it to it's side was great fun. Or shipwreck with boats, I remember i accidentally clipped a boat into another boat and anyone who touched it died.
CS has become more serious, before in 1.6, we had the serious competitive side, then the crazy nipper maps and crazy mods side. There was so much more to do in 1.6 compared to CS:S and CS:GO, CS:S had some new things, but often the community would die out of nowhere.
I wish I could play NIPPER's CS1.6 maps, but the installer for all his maps crashes every time I try to use it.
