Rupert Murdoch is pure scum and I can't wait for him to keel the fuck over already.
It feels like every country in the world is being scammed for a little short term gain, right now.
Another depressing reality check on what the NBN has become thanks to the Coalition. This is why I will NEVER vote for them.
pfft i like my prehistoric internet speeds anyone who doesn't isn't a true australian
Too right mate! Having a speed faster than fuckin 300 Kbps fuckin unaustralian dogg
Rupert Murdoch is pure scum and I can't wait for him to keel the fuck over already.
I'm honestly curious if his eventual death will actually change anything. Normally I'd expect whoever takes the reins next will just keep it going. With him though he always sounds so personally involved that it might have an impact.
Another depressing reality check on what the NBN has become thanks to the Coalition. This is why I will NEVER vote for them.
Kevin Rudd was the man to fuck the nbn, coalition inherited a shit idea and made it slightly worse. the reason nbn is shit is because of the off budget bullshit that happened, under the idea nbn would make them money. so they came up with a cvc charge, which promotes RSPs to buy as little as possible for their clients, a model which is a disincentive to give good service as it will make less money. why would an isp pay for more cvc bandwidth when they can just have congestion for a couple hours and save lots of $$$? nbn issues have nothing to do with Murdoch and everything to do with the CVC charge.
So another problem that has popped up in my city is a lot of the houses only have standard ADSL not ADSL2. So they started laying down the cables for NBN, skipping ADSL2 but apparently you cannot connect the ADSL houses to NBN without having the ADSL2 lines in first. So people are being told to sign up for NBN, the contractor comes and says there needs to be more upgrades and it is illegal to have an ADSL service installed in an NBN ready area when people ask to use ADSL in the meantime. Unbelievable how much money this is costing.

Labor did NOT propose a shitty MTM strategy that consisted of rolling out inferior tech that will need to be replaced. Labor had already budgeted FttP in which the blowout would've been minimal at best. The media had a VERY vested interest in seeing the NBN fail, as quoted in the video. This had to happen thanks to Telstra having a monopoly on every goddamn facet of our telecommunication infastructure; stifling any competition and upgrades to our decadent copper network.

Coalition looked at short term success, which it was budget wise. But in reality you can't hide from the price blowout FTTP was, and now FTTN is also. Piss poor handling on both parties, Kevin Rudd who started it, then Gillard, then Abbott and now Turnbull. CVC is currently the root of most problems with NBN. Some people on FTTP get worse than ADSL speeds, that is purely a CVC issue.
I still hold firm that Kevin Rudd was and is the finest candidate for PM. It's unfortunate what happened to him and his policies.
I still hold firm that Kevin Rudd was and is the finest candidate for PM. The Coalition have done so much more reckless damage than whatever trivial shit Labor has done.
i feel blessed that im sitting on 80 mb/s with 20 upload
10Mbit is still faster than the 3-6Mbit I get on a daily basis. AND LETS NOT FORGET ABOUT THE CONSTANT %30 PACKET LOSS KIDS! It's like trying to shit through the eye of a needle and only the google ad revenue packets get through rather than my god dammed destination on port 80. I have to use TelNet rather than SSH as it just tends to shit out on my internet. :| (THIS MAKES NO SENSE)
What I find amazing is just how they've managed to fuck up FTTN to the degree they get speeds that are worse than what you get anywhere else that uses FTTN. Like god damn, they've implemented it worse than we have. [editline]19th August 2017[/editline]
10Mbit is still faster than the 3-6Mbit I get on a daily basis. However you do have FTTC and FTTP open within that area depending on which of the 3 exchanges you're closer to, might be worth looking into it.

They've rolled out about an estimated 1400 nationwide. What's worse is that only about 16 of them "work". They have no clue as to why the rest aren't working. Thank Fuck I'm getting FTTC next year rather than FTTN, I've only heard bad things about FTTN connections. Would have prefered FTTP but I doubt that'll happen for decades now. The fact it's taken about 5 fucking years to even get a date for my area is a disgrace, I'm in an area with some of the worse internet speeds in WA, and I live reasonably close to the city. I get 1 megabit down on a good day.

It's also operating at 100↓/50↑, which is at least 4 times faster than the FTTN, and in actuality may be 5-10x faster depending on how fucked up node is.

I forgot to add my internet speed is actually getting worse, At the start of this year it was around 4 mb down 1 mb up, and now it's barely 1 mb down 1 mb up (this is megabit btw, not megabyte). fuck my life. Pretty much the only online game I can play anymore is Team Fortress 2 which sucks because almost all the Australian servers are either dead or kinda shit. Not to mention they're located in the eastern states so the best ping I can get is 70 to 100. [editline]20th August 2017[/editline] I swear it normally isn't this good, unless my brother's been downloading tons of crap again.
Holy fucking shit, how can they fuck it up so badly? With our FTTH we almost always get at least 200Mbps both upload and download. And it is available even in some of the most rural areas.
I just want more than 100kb/s upload trying to upload a video is torture.
CVC is currently the root of most problems with NBN. Some people on FTTP get worse than ADSL speeds, that is purely a CVC issue.
The fact that I can only sync speeds of 60/30 while PAYING for a 100/40 plan is NOT a CVC issue.
I just want more than 100kb/s upload trying to upload a video is torture.
I want less than 500ms ping again. I haven't been able to play online games (that are not turnbased) for over a year since moving to my current shit hole. I'd move to a bulk 4G plan if it weren't so damn expensive.
