I know Sniper Elite generally puts aside historical accuracy to make a plot for their game.
But from what all I've heard and read Germany was nowhere close to building a functioning atomic bomb because the Nazis forced most of it's nuclear physicists to flee the country because they were Jewish.
I kind of wish Sniper Elite would move onto to another war because I think they've done all they could with World War II.

that's definitely one reason but the main reason was that they believed by the time it would be a functional addition to their arsenal the war would be already be over, won or lost

Oh man, I'd love a Sniper Elite set in the Korean or Vietnam war.

Of course, people are gonna cry that it's unrealistic. A hundred-percent authentic, and the guy behind it was even more awesome

Doesn't sound like the trailer is implying actual nuclear bomb, just 'dirty bomb' with a shitton of radioactive stuff to make everyone sick with radiation poisoning.
Dunno if that was an actual plan they had, but that's the implication I hear.

Operation Gunnerside was Green Lit because the Allies feared the Nazis were close and did not want to risk it. So it's grounded somewhat in reality, that the allies did send men on missions to thwart the Nazis Atomic bomb projects,
We have the benefit of Hindsight iand knowlege that those at the time were not privvy too.
