Does the Windows even expose visibility/clipping information to replacement backgrounds? Rendering a full screen animation (especially with webgl) is just going to burn cycles on something nobody ever sees.
Been using wallpaper engine for about a year, seems to be fine. Wallpaper Engine also supports Unity and could use any website as wallpaper, for example you can do audio-responsive wallpapers/
If a majority of your desktop wallpaper is visible most of the time, you're using your computer incorrectly.

I like the idea of a live wallpaper, so long as it's designed that it disables when you have fullscreen applications open
Are there actually people who want their desktop to be flashy and obnoxious? I usually disable all non-essential UI features
There are live wallpapers that are not obnoxious, e.g. instead of having a picture of New York on your desktop, you could have a video instead. A subtle animation, not something that's going to give you a seizure
If a majority of your desktop wallpaper is visible most of the time, you're using your computer incorrectly.
lmao if you have your icons showing you've been doing it wrong for a long time bud
If a majority of your desktop wallpaper is visible most of the time, you're using your computer incorrectly.
As someone with 3 monitors for work reasons, i sometimes have one or two monitors blank on which a smooth animated wallpaper looks really pretty cool and soothing. [editline]17th October 2017[/editline] And if you think animated wallpapers are pointless then this product is pretty much not for you anyway.

Wallpaper engine is great, I've been using it for a while and it doesn't eat nearly as much resources as one might think.
I wish wallpaper engine was available on phones too, would make looking for good live wallpaper so much easier rather than risk getting something dirty from the store.
