Donald Trump brought up 9/11 during the Presidential debates after Cruz criticized both him and the citizens of New York. Trump was interviewed by a German news group following the attacks since he is a major building constructor in NYC.

Actually it's a bit weird because cruz has openly spoke out about other republican candidates attacking trump, has said he is a "friend", and trump has actually said if he obtains the nomination he'd like to have cruz as a vp. Their brief peace treaty seems very definitely over though

As soon as Trump said "World Trade" you can see the realization hit Cruz at which point he pulls a face, nods and claps along.

I don't like Trump but you can see he genuinely loves New York.
