Kinda surprised he didn't jump into the "modern" games, which are equally as horrible as the dress-up-for-ken games
Literally every sequel/next-in-a-series always has at least one person going "this isn't as good as the last ones" so it's hard to know if that's actually true and there is a quality drop or people are just expecting each new video to be worst then the last one and just convincing themselves into it

Different tastes. Jon produces a lot of videos and they follow different structures, not to mention the content he's covering varies wildly.
Personally, I just try to enjoy each video as it's own thing, never mind whether or not it measures up to some of my favourites.

I dunno, California Games is probably my favourite one he's ever done (though Titenic is good, too).
He seems to change his style fairly often though, and this is in a different style compared to his more recent stuff so it's hard to say whether this is less funny or I just have to adapt to his new style like I have to sometimes.

I agree... I love jon, but sometime after his Food Fight video I think is when he started feeling off to me

He plays it too safe, IMO. I mean you can't compare his Nuts & Bolts video to his newer ones. The newer ones feel too sitcom-y and not JonTron enough.
The only things missing from his newer videos would be a laugh track and bleeped out swear words, and it could go straight on TV.
In my opinion, and I think I've said this many months ago, I think it may be due to some of the subjects lacking a certain "spark" that pre-Grumps Jon had in spades, mostly because the things he "reviewed" were things that were close to his heart.
Case in point, stuff like Joe & Mac, Nuts & Bolts, DinoCity, Monster Bash, the ones that he had some sort of strong connection to. I just hope there are a few things left from his past for him to pour his heart out over, since those kinds of games are the ones that made some of the finest of his earlier videos.
